In regards to this, as far as I am aware TA had one representative online on Thursday @ 8PM
Not sure if BTD did, however both Edarus and I were waiting in the wings if we were to play that night, we just were not online at the time, due to other commitments.

Yes, ^ that's effectively what the case last week for TA vs BtD.
i also did ask the TA player on (can't remember a name, sorry) to try and get it played at some point, since games have untill wensday of the following week to be played.

In this case, it would expected to be done by tommrow.
But since that's probably unlikely, I will speak with froggy and any other admin on, to see what should be for in terms of TA vs BtD.

also an update on one of my earlier posts, orginally talking about me taking a break sc2, at end of the season. infact, that will NOT be the case. i will be around still, but reletively quiet as a player, but still fulfilling admin and manager duties, untill i get a new keyboard, then i'll be around a ton more.

Anyway,
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN! to everyone for the 5th week!
Lets hope this week, no smurfs ruin anyones fun.

Mahonanida would've been the player on at the time (can understand why the name is hard to remember :P)
Both him and I had been speaking with Edarus in regards to the games to be played.
I have been on most nights, over the past week and can probably try to organise with Interdiction as to when the games can be played if that is the case.
I should (child may intervene) be on tonight and may also be able to organise the rest of the team to play the games tonight if Interdiction is able to do the same thing.

Yeah that's the name. lol. xD

but yeah, if you get the games organised vs BtD, would be aweosme.
I don't think players would be too keen on missing a weeks worth of games, imho.

Hey.. just a question about the 4-0 ruling for smurfing or no shows etc...

If one team causes the infraction - its fair that they are punished for what ever reason with the loss and possible -4 points..
However the winning team receives +4 and a win.. which is a big deal...
Otherteams around them on the standings might miss out of a finals spot based on points because of it..

Basically.. a -4 loss is a punishment to the team that caused the infraction. Whereas +4 win is a punishment to all the other teams on the ladder.

How can you fix this? - give the winning team no points?.. or only +2? I dunno.. but +4 really throws off the ladder.. As most teams are winning 4-2 or 4-3 thats two or more weeks of games just to catch up.. assuming the other team doesn't get any wins!..

Quick Comments

good point...sure the admins will think of something soon :)

It's a tricky one I think in the fact that the team that showed up on time don't get any points, which could have the same effect (finals spots) you would hate to miss the 4th position because you didn't play a team that you would've won 4-3 instead of 0 - -4.
If every team had a W/O it would be a problem.

Last season this wasn't an issue as there were a good amount of all kills anyway. With a much more competitive league I agree with Chad that a 4-0 can make a giant difference. Perhaps a default 4-2 can be given, as that's about the average match score through this season.

I was thinking that for smurfed games, the scoreline gets frozen at the game where the smurfers enters the match.

For example..

Scenario 1: If Team A was beating Team B 2-1, then a smurfer from Team B comes in, I recommend the scores be locked at 4-1, as it gives credit to that 1 player from Team B who won his game genuinely.

Scenario 2: If Team B played with a smurf as their first player and he scored an all-kill, then the score be recorded as 4-0 as Team B did not genuinely win any games.

===========

As for no-shows, I recommend a 1-0 score to the winning team. A 4-2 scoreline implies that the no-show team won 2 matches, which isn't the case at all.

the 4-2 is less about the wins or losses.. but the point difference that a team gets from it..
so.. instead of thinking of it as 4-2.. its +2 point difference... since is a midpoint.. if the match was played out properly it might have ended in a loss for the team getting +2... and I'm sure most of the captains would agree.. if at the start of the match you were offered a 4-2 win.. you'd take it.. rather than play it out and get a loss or 4-3 win...

And as most teams currently are winning 4-2 and 4-3 a +2 points for a walk over would be fair and along those lines..

And at the end of the day, if my team misses out on a playoff spot over 2 points.. that another team were given +4 for a walk over giving them the lead over our team.. that would be very disappointing.. and in the end.. punish my team, not just the team with the infraction to cause the walk over.

Then we should agree on a 2-0 score. As I mentioned, 4-2 gives the impression that the no-show team won 2 games. Giving a 2-0 score gives the no-show team absolutely no advantage ("Hey I don't wanna play against Clanless, they're gonna 4-0 all-kill us anyway, let's no show and score 2 games, at least we got something"), while the team who showed up still gets a +2 games advantage.

no no... the team causing the penalty should be given a -4 to points.. (simulating a 0-4)... where as the winning team should only receive a +2... doesn't matter about the 2 in a 4-2... its just a -2... its all about the difference between both numbers...

anyway, I think the penalty is fine at 0-4 loss... just the benefit for the other team punishes all the other teams in the league...
if that makes sense?

My proposition, -4 points for the infraction (no show, smurf, etc) and +2 to the team vsing the penalised team... To use the ToR v TCP game for example... TCP are penalised -4 as if there was a 0-4 loss. and ToR are given a few win and +2.... seems fair to me and doesn't damage the other teams chances of climbing the ladder... Thats my opinion anyway, I'm sure the admin guys will put in their own...

You may have beaten us before Clanless, but I would never be afraid to challenge you again.. and 4-0 all-kill? You're dreaming!

This is a very hard issue to solve IMO. As others said +4 is unfair to all other teams. On the other hand, +0 would be unfair to that team because that means their game didn't count at all. Also, +2 might not work because what if Team A had the ability to all-kill Team B but since Team B didn't show up they didn't get the points?
