Yeah I agree - the only reason I think a ruling for this is that the two teams that have received 4-0s are the two teams either side of mine in the standings - and I would be very disappointed on missing out on playoffs because another team didn't show up one week.
Additionally - I'm of the belief that this league is all about fun (and I think most of us are enjoying our weekly games quite alot?) and fun from playing the games - which is why i've been adamant in all occasions that my team have been in situations where walkovers for cheating or no shows - that all opportunities be given to the other teams to rematch, reschedule or do what ever is needed for us to play out our games.
My opinion (and of course - it is only my opinion)...
bTd should be given the chance to reschedule their missed games as they were particular circumstances that the rest of the team are being punished for that they were naive about.
Anyway, Thanks again to the admins and all the players of this league - Myself and my team have really enjoyed it. there have been some great games!
and everyone, gl hf in the last three matches!!
Also, just noticed on the brackets that FaDe B are actually 3-3 not 4-2...?
Is that wrong? I just did 3 weeks of updates for the Challonge brackets over the weekend based off the results in the thread. Hope I didn't get it wrong T_T

brackets and weekly results suggest 3-3 is correct... but i have no idea... :S
It is 4-2, because there were a re-match TA vs FaDe B due to eskimo smurfing case. Originally they lost to TA but after the rematch, FaDe B won the game, so they are 4-2 now.
You can have a look at their match history in the OP, they won 4 games and lost 2.

I'm such a muppet -_- fixed. Thanks Frog, at least ONE of us is on the ball.
We spoke with the admin concerning the walkover rule.
I am going to explain a bit how works the points system and the walkover rule. I'll try with my best english so everybody will understand.
There were some remarks concerning the 4-0 walkover spoiling the point difference of teams. What i will explain below will clear all the doubts.
Walkover rule
The first important thing to understand is that we won't change the rule as it is now, we'll just try to explain it, so everybody will understand the walkover rule.
1. If a team presents an irregular player, or doesn't show for the game, it will result a walkover.
2. A walkover is resulting by a score of 4-0.
3. The faulty team is awarded the loss, the victim team is awarded the win.
Points system
Once again, what i present here is the actual point system, we won't change it neither.
If you have a look at the brackets, Brackets are HERE
You will see on the bottom of the page that team are sorted by:
1. Number of matches won
2. Total points in game
3. Points difference
Example: If we have a look at the table below:
Team
W
L
Matches won
Total points
Points diff
Team A
5
4
5
24
24/20 +4
Team B
5
4
5
23
23/19 +4
Team C
5
4
5
23
23/18 +5
Team A, B and C are tied at the end of the season. They all have 5 wins.
The final ranking will be:
1. Team A - because they have the highest number of single games won
2. Team C - because they have a higher point difference than team B (+5>+4)
3. Team B - because they have less single games won than team A and a lower point difference than team C.
To resume
- a walkover is 4-0
- In case of a tie at the end of the season we look first at the total points in game.
- If the total points in game is also the same we look then at the points difference.
- if after that two teams are still tied, we look at the team who won their matchups.
Everyone keep in mind the above post is just for clarity, nothing has really changed. Frog just wanted to explain the points system seeing as it hasn't really been done yet properly.
Everyone ALSO please keep in mind that the Challonge brackets doesn't take into account individual losses, whereas we DO in the event that the wins + losses + individual wins are tied. This is why TCP and QED are in different positions on Challonge vs the OP of this thread. This thread's standings is the OFFICIAL standings.

Its very hard to implement a rule when the season is almost over. However, if a rule like this is going to be implemented it should be applied to games where there have been illegal play retrospectively to make it fair for all teams.
As it stands, as of two rounds ago (correct me if I am wrong), several teams received 4-0 walkovers for teams that broke the rules. Earlier in the season, however, games had to be replayed if there was an infraction.
For example: FaDe B v TA where the illegal games had to be replayed and the official result recorded as 4-2 instead of the new points system of 4-0 for the walkover. There are a couple other matches that have been dealt with in a similar way earlier in the season but I don't have the details on those.
With this in mind, and the walkover result now being set as 4-0, this puts all teams who have had the misfortune to play in a tainted league match behind those who receive the new walkover result - should such a thing occur in the last couple of rounds. This could be the result that gets teams over the line for the finals and knock out teams that were victims earlier int he season.
I think the 4-0 walkover rule should be implemented for Season 3 to make it fair for all teams.
To address the issue in Season 2, the legitimate team should be awarded a 4-2 victory and the illegitimate team should be given a 0-4 result - unless you plan to go back and update the previous rounds with the new walkover result where necessary.

I was away for the past few weeks, but from what I have seen a team that "breaks the rules" (smurfing) isn't penalized with a 0-4, the games are actually replayed from the point when the smurf was put in. Because this was a situation we didn't really account for, it was kind of up to the individual team managers to decide whether to replay or not and the team who was wronged was always the one who had the final choice. The only teams who got 4-0 over the past couple weeks has been the ones up against BtD (who messed up internally and apologized) and I'm pretty sure ToR v TCP tried to re-organize the games but it was either decided by ToR to take the 4-0, or they couldn't get an arrangement both teams were happy with. Would love to hear from the team managers about that.

I can see in theory how this works, but the way we set up this season was to make it so that walk overs weren't even a possibility. Walk overs was such a HUGE problem in Season 1, so the solution we have up with was to allow a full week to play the match up. How can a team that has a week to play a game not be able to organize 4 or more players!? We learned this season; miss-communication. While it's unfortunate, this season we are going to keep the walk over results the same. There also won't be any more walkovers now that BtD has their heads into gear.

All good, Maynarde! I know what its like setting up new leagues - I had plenty of nightmares with Quake 3 leagues for OZTF, AusRA3 and OQCL back in the day. It does come down to a bit of trial and error, but in the end it will shape season 3 as the best season with these bugs ironed out.
Sounds good - I think the ruling can be looked over in the time between seasons..
Again I'll reiterate rezyn's sentiments about our gratitude to the admin's and our appreciation to the hard work you guys put in each week!!
Update for those who care.
TAEdarus (owait, thats me!) now has a house and as of Saturday will be living in it.
Internet still to be organised but once thats done i'm 100% back onboard rather than my current limited capacity.
#winning!
Thanks to everyone for their understanding and support, and special big thanks to Syn, Maynarde and Froggy for preventing my absence from making an impact on the event (and subsequently bringing the need for me as an admin into question! jerks!!).
