GPD Open - News Update

The SC2SEA team would like to inform you of a couple of improvements towards our popular weekly GPD event. Held every Sunday (excluding Masters Cup weekend), the GPD Open (Gold, Plat, Diamond) is a mid tier tournament for the up and coming stars of tomorrow. Not everyone has the time or skill to be a pro gamer, and this tournament caters to the best of the rest. Weekly prize is $10 and top 8 qualify for the massive monthly Masters Cup. The GPD open regularly attains 60-100 players.

New Prize :

Thanks to support from passionate Starcraft 2 fan Criven, we shall be increasing the winners reward to include 1 hour of coaching from a top level 'official sc2sea recognised coach'.

You may select any from the list, and we shall arrange the lesson for you. Coaching depends upon the individual coaches availabity, if a lesson can't be arranged, you may select another from the list.

Introducing the dGG GPD Monthly Open $50



We are pleased to partner with team Divine Generation Gaming to bring this new format for those who place highly in the regular weekly GPD's. The top 4 players from each GPD Open in our 3 week cycle, shall be joined by 4 wildcards to fight it out in a single elim 16 player Cup. Examples of wildcards can be for good, or unique play in GPD's, previous GPD winners, invites to Sc2sea personalities and invites for good forum behaviour/contributions towards the community. Prize break down is $25 1st, $15 2nd, $10 3rd. The Cups shall be held the Saturday afternoon before the monthly Masters Cup.

Divine Generation Gaming, is a team who love to help out the community in many different ways. We provide sponsorship for tournaments as well as putting in time to host them. We have teams in Counter Strike Source, Counter Strike Global Offensive and League of Legends. We have only recently branched out to include StarCraft 2, but have plans to make the team and our brand, a big name in community, known for our kindness and love for the game! We have recently just returned from a break over summer holidays, and are eager and ready to put in hard work for sc2sea community, improve our gaming, and contribute towards the wider esports scene.

We have previously sponsored the BSG events, and now are wanting to expand our love for the community by sponsoring the popular GPD format. Given the established success of the Master Cup , which has master league players from every part of the world, we feel there wasn't as much focus or opportunities for the GPD Weekly players, beyond the GPD Open. Thus we came up with the idea of a monthly Cup, and have looked to take an active role towards that. Our new sponsorship of the GPD's, follows on from our BSG commitments. We hope SC2SEA.com community enjoys these new montly cups. Keep an eye out for more dGG news coming in the future!

Our regular GPD Open shall return for it's 46th instalment this coming Sunday, April 14. The first dGG GPD Cup shall be on May 5th.
