I think 9pm AEDT will suit the majority of people, there will be a few that can't make it but I think overall more people will be able to attend it now if it's changed to 9pm.

are there tournaments held during Friday nights?

i think it would be most beneficial if it would be on a 930 or 10 AEDT Fridays to accommodate both SG players who need to go to where they can play early and to those in NZ going to stay up late without fear of waking up late the next day.
