Personally I think the core issue is more having an active, reliable roster for a good competition.
I agree with this. It's kind of annoying and doesn't really make sense but not much you can do about it though as it's up to the individual players. If you don't want to play / can't play, don't sign up!

That's actually not a bad idea, will have to keep it in mind when we're all discussing rules for next season
If this rule was to be implemented we would need an option to kick people off our team and be able to replace them with new ones without limit, so any inactive people will be replaced.
I totally agree with this, if this rule comes in - alot more subs are needed and team managers need to be alot stricter with selecting team members..
Something that is proveing to be very successful with my team is the amount of in-house practice sessions; keeping practise up and members active - we've also started to run mini tournaments amongst the team - with myself and suman squaring off in the final soon!.. This has helped the team improve dramatically and bond together! Additionally we have started to learn each others play style and thus forced us to be very creative when versing each other - which have led to some amazing and interesting matches, games between myself and inco and suman last night were very fun!..
Anyway, these things have helped our team succeed and might work for you too! Gl hf and see you all in the PDCL next season?!!?
This is a very good idea, it allows for more flexibility as opposed to having to play last.
What about Gold's all killing or 3 killing?..
I think the rule is fine - if a player all kills or 3 kills they should have a 1 week rest...
Its up to team managers to deal with this - personally this wouldn't be a problem for my team - tho Skyrim has taken its toll on some of our players..
Perhaps in addition to 3 (or maybe more subs - to deal with this rule) teams can post pone the week rest if no other players are available... but the rest must be served within 2-3 weeks?
I see since no-one has posted the results from the FaDe A v TCP match I guess I should.
FaDe A [4] v TCP [3]
FaDeHalstrom < SmotPokaFish on Backwater Gulch Rezyn < SmotPokaFish on Abyssal Caverns mrbadass > SmotPokaFish on Metalopolis mrbadass < TCPkrycek on Xel'Naga Caverns ZeroAbsolute > TCPkrycek on MLG Tal'Darim Altar ZeroAbsolute > TCPFrogmite on Metalopolis ZeroAbsolute > TCPGalabo on Metalopolis
Great games by TCP! It was extremely close and every-one had lots of fun =D
Big thank you to the casters LordByrnsy, Hellfyre and an intoxicated Halstrom (xD). Looking forward to having you guys cast our games again in the future!

Imo the 1 week penalty is against the spirit of the BSGCL. This league is for people to have fun and get better while getting experience in tournaments, and how is it fun to get punished for doing well?
KA 4 - 2 FaDe B Hellfyre[/b] < Byrnsy - Backwater Gulch Falcon < Byrnsy - Metalopolis Aeon > Byrnsy - Shakuras Plateau Aeon > Punchy - Shattered Temple Aeon > Fullstop - Metalopolis Aeon> FESTa - Antiga Shipyard
GG to FaDe B

In response to Chad... There's no problem with someone 3-killing, it just means they're good. If someone is moved back to third, it's just to let more people play, right?

I think what the rule does is force teams to work together and overall the winning team won't be the team with 1 player that is really good.. but a line up of solid players.
A rule that forces teams to rest their players that 3 kill or all kill will bring more tactics to the managers selecting players save good players for good matches etc...
Anyway, this is just my opinion - but I could see how my opinion would change if I was managing a team that relied on 1 or 2 players to do all the killing and had a small roster or half roster inactive...

really!? I thought it was pronounced Cry-sek... so it's check now?
The difference between the GSL and the BSGCL is, the players in the GSL are supposedly the best-of-the-best, not people across three whole leagues of skill.
We're just discussing potential ways to keep the competition close, as well as allow everyone to get a go.
Otherwise we can happily go back to "anyone first" and teams can just put their best foot first and have rosters of 1 player whos Gold (or Plat).
But as I said, it is just a discussion on a potential rule, again it will only go in if the community agrees as we are community admins not the Overminds.
