So I guess the problem is you feel that either SEA or Oceania are ambiguous to the region it covers? Personally I prefer just Oceania Starcraft Championship (OSC) as I feel it is simpler and covers the Asian islands surrounding Australia.

Whichever choice is made you should consider not using SCS for the points as it will only become confusing in the future. Why not use whatever the new acronym is?

EDIT: what does the acronym OSEANIC stand for? Oceania, South East Asian, ... NIC?

Not so much ambiguous, just that some people globally might not be aware of where/and which nations make up SEA. Australia and New Zealand aren't technically part of it, just associated by using the same home server. And in reverse, Oceania doesn't include other prominent SEA nations, such as Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. Thus we'd still like SEA included in some form, or small way, while presenting ourselves more clearly as Aus + Nz from a marketing perspective.

SCS would just be for points, and not a marketable or official tournament name. Used as a term the players and tournament organisers are familiar with. It's also pretty catchy, and reflects on our history.

OSEANIC is using a bit of word play/a merger of the two words, sub out the C, and replace with an S for SEA.

True OSEANIC isn't an acronym, it's a full title, which should be said as OSEANIC Championship, in the same vein as North American Championship, etc. Shortened it would be either OC or OSC.
