Yes, I know that if you Random, you Random. However, again, last week he played Zerg and there was no issue. Once I had that cleared up, I decided not to press further.
Portraits can be very misleading, especially if you've had enough games. Portraits that come from the EXP earned to me means jack cause I can just go play a bunch of Team Games and then roll around with a Kerrigan portrait no?
And I'm pretty sure Reyze and Bluey are not the only guys who have won two (or even more) BSG Opens. Back to back, not to sure but I do recall some players winning back to back. Might need to look into that.
Ultimately, my decision, my responsibility.
I do not take portraits into account for anything? I don't know where that came up... I am saying in recent history (so over the last 20-22 weeks) I have not seen anyone else win back to back... Of course i could be wrong.
This would've been picked up easily last week by myself had i been able to continue playing, but due to emergencies and me being sick i had to drop out when my match with Ryze came up. This was unfortunate it could not have been dealt with last week.

[11:30 PM] CleighMoores: Were you the guy from Canada?
I remember when I switched to Protoss and went to paly in the BSG and becasue I had played more terran on the ladder I was told I had to play ladder.
It can be argued that Ryze is only in gold due to the fact that his protoss and terran are sub-par compaired to his zerg and that his zerg play is higher than that of the average BSG player, I mean I have seen him take games of Diamond Protoss players from VB as zerg.
This being said on the ladder, he is only in gold and was allowed to play in the BSG's therefore I believe that he should have to play as random, even in the rules I think it says this as this is what I was told when I wanted to play protoss.
Just my 2c but then again who cares Im a nobody :P
Ryze has now won two in a row...(has only done two BSG's) the only other person i know who's won 2 in a row is Bluey, who've none of us has seen since.
Lol this made me feel you were suggesting you're gonna jump Ryze for winning twice in a row xD

These issues come up every week in the bsg, and i believe will continue until new rules are implemented. Its too hard to prove when its become easier to play on any server with the one account unlike prior to Hots. I don't have a solution, except that possibly to enter the bsg you have to have an affiliation with an sc2sea respected clan, and these clans self govern the entries to avoid bad rep.
This issue is why we can't have nice things.

There will always be similar problems when we have a BSG tournament. Gold players who have plat or even diamond macro or micro skills but gold decision making skills. Hence looking too good for Gold (probs close to a promo) OR PDM players who are smurfing to play (shame on these people).
Regardless of the issues, having an event for the BSGers to look forward to regularly is and has always been a great initiative and these players (clan or clanless) deserve to have their competitive fun at closer to their levels.
The requirement to ladder a minimum a week is to ensure a match history and also help legit good gold players to get promoted. Being dodgey about it isn't helpful and shows a lack of consideration for both players and admins.

"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
I've recently uncovered a ring of smurfs who had been playing in the Open.
I'm not going to name names, but it's been proven they drop games.
I know how to find them~
I don't know the full rule set, and I really don't care to read it, but why can it not be straight forward?
If someone was or over any less than 3 seasons ago on ANY server then he/she is not allowed to play.
Race changes? Honestly, who cares. I went from to instantly. It's not about "hey, he was only now he's " the mechanics, game knowledge and other fundamentals ALWAYS follow over if you race change.
Also, it's pretty easy to see if they've been dropping ladder games.
I don't care if i'm not allowed, and I certainly don't care if it is against any rules, but if anyone has some serious concerns about a player that has been "smurfing" in these tournaments, stop bothering the admins if they reach an inconclusive result.
As appointed stats man I feel like i'm a small part of this admin team as well, so don't hesitate to contact me because I have my ways of finding player's accounts on other servers and I don't mind sifting through match history to check APM and opponent's skill level and the potential dropping of games.
After this rant, I feel the need to say; Keep this tournament clean!!
I've been around for a very long time and have competed quite a few times as well as watching nearly every weekend, so don't think admins don't do their job, it's very stressful
Wasn't it you that used to have a brother play on your account, who was a much higher ranked player than you? Last time I played the same thing happened, but admins agreed that your play mechanics weren't as high as what your account suggested.
(Or i'm mixing up with someone else.)
