not all the results are finalised yet, but i think it's safe to assume the last 2 matches are going to be double walkovers, they have until 9am to send results in if the games were played...
Round 3 Review:
maps:
game 1: WCS cloud kingdom
game 2: WCS shakuras plateau
game 3: WCS entombed valley
players still in the running for the competitors prize: 24
- Round took place over xmas and new year, which resulted in many forfeits.
- Nomad vs Undone; for the second week in a row the match I was most looking forward to ended up being a walkover
- Of the matches that were played, all of them were very one sided as far as i can tell.
- Match of the round: MVP vs Nadir, MVP makes a strong claim to the title of best ZvZ in perth.
- Upset of the round: Scalaz vs Chobo, Scalaz defends himself against the chobo cheese and takes the series 2-0 in quick fashion.
we are left with only 6 players undefeated; Frustration, Armi, Nomad, Paul, MVP, Scalaz (who is on 2 wins and a draw)
while none of them are guaranteed to be in the final 6 that make finals (there'll be no more easy matches for any of them), it should be entertaining to watch them match up against each other next week and once again halve the numbers of undefeated players.

- Some people weren't happy about playing on tal darim and/or abyssal city, i'm sure they'll be less happy playing on them a second week in a row in round 5
- Mvp vs Scalaz; Once again my most anticipated match was a walkover, it is clearly a curse.
- Match of the round: Nomad vs Paul - Yet again Nomad comes out on top in the most entertaining series this round.
- Upset of the round: dAXn vs Thor - dAXn has clearly been laddering hard since RFlan, it's good to see that hard work translating into results.
- We are left with only 3 players undefeated; Frustration and Nomad will be fighting it in round 5 for outright top place, while Scalaz sits half a win behind after his partying induced draw in round 1.
- The winner of the free coaching prize has been decided (the top placed bronze, silver or gold ranked player after 4 rounds receives a 1 hour coaching session from grandmaster AsGCHoBo)
- This was the most exciting round so far in terms of matches, even though it seems like half of them were PvP
- The results each week now have a new factor to watch for; i haven't done all the maths, but I'm expecting the cut off for the final 6 to be somewhere in the group of players on 5 wins from 8 games. So anyone who accumulates their 4th loss is pretty much out of contention, anyone racking up a 3rd loss is on shaky ground and needs a good TB score (wins earlier in the season help tie break score more than later wins)
- Nomad vs Frustration; For once my anticipated match actually got played, Nomad surprised everyone and came away as the last undefeated player, can he stay that way all season?
- Match of the round: dAXn vs Paul - All 3 games coming down to the wire. There were a few other good series this week, but this one was my favourite
- Upset of the round: SuperNova vs Zealo - well done supernova! Now win the next 3 weeks please to make my tie break score better.

- as a nice change, we got some matches at the top end which are not PvP
- several players have changed Bnet IDs, including:
Scalaz > ScalaToR
AsGCHoBo > AsGKiceK
FaDeUndoNe > RichocheT
- Last week i estimated the cut off for the final 6 would be somewhere in the 5 points range. looking at the table this week i can't see a way for anyone on less than 6 points to make the cut.
- over recent weeks; Nadir has withdrawn, while mvp and MrToast continue to be awol on match days. this creates a situation where players in the top half of the ladder are receiving byes (free wins), where they otherwise would have been huge underdogs, this jumbles the ladder greatly, which is unfortunate. more tragically, it leaves the top of the ladder protoss dominated.
- Nomad vs Armi: nomad crushes his way through another top of the table PvP in convincing fashion
- Match of the round: dAXn vs Goosejuice - some entertaining (if sloppy) super late game ZvPs and a mind game win in game 1's PvP.
- Upset of the round: All the matches went the way i expected, so wtchuwahmon taking a map off chobo is my pick.

Should have just played standard! But I thought what silly build can I do to make zealo proud... So thought what would zealo do. Thought mass banshee, battle cruiser was in order but failed! (((((
- best matches so far, almost all the matches played were evenly matched and entertaining.
- still way too many PvPs
- kice, scalaz, daxn and paul drop out of the running for the top 6.
- Goosejuice and Frustration joined Nomad in securing a top 6 finish
- Frustration vs Why: Frustration showed his class and won easily, probably the least entertaining of the series i watched from this round.
- Match of the round: Nomad vs Goosejuice - The Goose managed to overcome some his sever lag issues and lack of practice (due to lag issues) to actually make the top of the table clash exciting.
- Upset of the round: Goose > Nomad - After his 6-0 start vs most of the best perth has to offer, Nomad's run is stopped by the 400 ping Goose. NovaD and Head also managed surprising victories to keep themselves in the running for the top 6.
- pretty much all of the matches were 1 sided, breaking the trend of rounds 4-7
- still way too many PvPs
- Final round! Our seeds for the finals are now known
- Bad luck to Head, NovaD, Scalaz and Richochet, who would have qualified for the finals if they'd won their match this week!
- Frustration vs Goosejuice: Goose seemed to forget who he was playing against and got crushed
- Match of the round: RichocheT vs Why - In what turned out to be the battle for the only non protoss spot in the top 6, both players used old school styles (from back when TvZ was fun to watch) and it was the only match close enough to be entertaining.
- Upset of the round: Nabi > KiceK - Nabi just too good
