Hi, I've got no idea how these things usually work and this seems as good a place as any to ask. Do these types of tournaments usually turn into social events? or is it just a place for the top-200 list to grind some money?

I'm only a diamond scrub but I can come along no problems, just wondering if its worth it without knowing anyone.

There's always plenty of lower level people even a few bronze/silvers show up, and many people just come to hang around and spectate. It should be great fun if you like starcraft your bound to have fun.
