I didn't mind it but it wasn't as great as i was expecting.
The story and dialogue felt stale and generic to me and the gameplay felt very repetitive.
Having said that I'll still play it on release and I hope that they actually read what was written on all of their little surveys because I think there will be a lot of similar complaints.
The PvP seemed very...slow? I'm not sure whether that is the right word because you're constantly moving around and rolling away, dodging stuff, etc. but damage would go out so slowly but then sometimes you'd lose 70-80% of your health in a single ability, so that confused me. The lack of healing in the game (there was healing but healing for 150 when you have a healthpool of over 10000 seems kind of pointless to me) combined with the lack of good CC means that you can't really have very interesting PvP gameplay. I felt as if the skill cap wasn't very high even with swapping weapons/elements.
I really like the idea behind the WvW though. I think it's done waaaay better then how WoW has done it. A constant back and forth between 3 factions, and bonuses which you can earn even if you're coming last. I think after release, once everyone has figured it out a bit there will be some great wars going on there. Hopefully they can make the PvP more interesting by release though. I played it for an hour and a half and by the end of that was really bored by it whereas in WoW I could play the same generic BGs over and over for an entire day just because of how fun the PvP gameplay was.
I played it for one day but couldn't really see myself playing the beta for a second. In release when there is an actual goal I will probably enjoy it more but I'm still not sure. I'l be very interested to see what the endgame is like.
EDIT: I almost forgot one of the biggest things that i didn't like so far about this game. Every single aspect of it made me feel like I was playing single player. In the group quests I just sat there and hit something, there was no reason for anyone to do anything to help out the group, just hit the boss as hard as you can. Even in the PvP, there was nothing that made the person you were fighting personal or non-sp-ish. At first I thought the "Green/blue invaders" were NPC's before remembering one of the videos i watched saying that you won't know who you're actually versing. Then because there's no healer or reliable CC there's nothing you can do to help out allies other then, just like in PvE, hit the opponent harder.
