Eternal E-Sports also recently acquired a CS:GO team from Europe. Last month I interviewed the leader, Amar Karabegović, about the CS scene and his goals under the ETL banner.

Hi mate, thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions about yourself and CS. How are you?

Good and you?

I'm doing alright myself. Firstly, could you introduce yourself to the community and tell us a little bit about yourself?

Well my name is Amar. I'm from a small country called Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country most people can't show on the map. I'm fairly young and I like to think that goes to my advantage when it comes to gaming.

When did you first begin playing Counter-Strike and how did you get into it?

Well I remember Counter-Strike was really popular in my country. All of the kids were playing it and I remember being in a cyber cafe when I saw some older kid showing his montages and it looked so good I just had to try it. Next thing you know I'm playing CS 1.5 in my dads office and enjoying myself. That was long time ago but it lead me to this day.

What is your skill level currently and how much practice did it take to get to that point?

Well I think no one likes to examine himself and give grades since people could think I am cocky or something. But If I really need to say, I would rank myself somewhere around the high level. There were a lot of turning points in my gaming career. I started playing on a terrible computer with no gaming gear but that didn't stop me. First thing I did was put my ego aside and started to get my hands dirty. It took me hundreds of hours to master some parts of this game and I am proud to say they are not even close to their potential. At this moment I have 1319 hours of CS:GO and I am proud of every second.

So what are your plans for the future in Counterstrike? Are there any tournaments you are going to be playing in the future?

Of course! We have been practicing a lot since we got picked up by Eternal E-Sports just so we can make an immediate impact on the scene. We plan to join online cups and leagues like Gameface and ESL.

If someone wants to get into the Counterstrike scene, how would you recommend they begin?

Start off small and humble. I made the mistake of starting a team and trying to manage every aspect of it. And of course I failed. My advice would be work on yourself and take small steps. Also NEVER give up. Even if you think everything is over and cannot be changed, just keep pushing. Success won't come to a person who is not ready to put in the work needed.

Do you have any final words or shout-outs you would like to give, and where can we follow you?

First of all, I want to thank Swarmstika for being confident in us and picking us up. Also, I would thank Havok and his company GosuServers.net for providing us with game and voice servers.
