DreamHack Summer 2014

This weekend will see thousands of gamers and eSports fans descend upon Jönköping, Sweden to participate in the largest LAN party in the world. Among the notable competitors for SC2 will be MC , HerO , StarDust , jjakji , TaeJa , Jaedong ,and Snute , just to name a few! In addition to this list, our very own x5_PiG will be representing the SEA region and Australia!

The casters for the event will be Apollo, iNcontroL and Nathanias, with hosts Smix and Lilsusie.

Format

A 96-player tournament has been announced for StarCraft II. There will be 3 group stages. The 32 competitors with the highest seed will begin their tournament in the second group stage. Meanwhile, the other 64 players will compete in the first group stage in a bo3 dual-tournament format. The top 2 will advance into a 16 player single elimination bracket to determine the winner. The top 4 players will receive a seed to the Grand Finals at DreamHack Winter in November.

With fewer players this year, Group Stage #2 is set to be much more stacked compared to last year´s. There are already many groups that many players will hope to avoid, with the worst of them Group D, which has MC and Oz , and Group N, which has Jaedong and Golden .
