Cure: Congratulations on being the first winner of the SEASL!
Filthy: Thanks!

Cure: How does it feel being the first winner of the SEASL ?
Filthy: Feels great, especially after such a hard fought finals.

Cure: How did you prepare for this tournament?
Filthy: It varied a bit. For group stage I had almost no preparation because I was fairly sick at the time. Against ice and edge, it was more just laddering on korea. For Aaron, I had quite a few matches with my teammates. Other than that I also spent some time watching previous games of my opponents and thinking about how to best counter them, and how they would counter my style.

Cure: Who would you reckon was your toughest opponent in the SEASL ?
Filthy: I'd say probably Light, partly because it was my weakest matchup. Even with tvz as my best matchup, I'd say Edge would come 2nd.

Cure: I see, you had to face FXOiceiceice earlier in the tournament and you beat him pretty convincingly, how did you feel about the teamkill ?
Filthy: I wasn't too perturbed by it. In the end sc2 is a solo game and so you have to expect you will play teammates or friends in important matches.

Cure: Your TvZ style is pretty unique, did you come up with this style yourself? And why do you prefer Mech play over Bio play ?
Filthy: I wouldn't say I came up with it completely myself, but I think I have definitely developed the subtleties of it that I don't see other terrans do when they occasionally go mech. I prefer mech over bio play because I feel I have much more control over the game, especially early game. Another reason is I had a lot of trouble with muta heavy play going bio. And finally I just find it more fun, there's nothing like roasting drones with some hellions

Cure: Haha! Overall do you think you showed your best play in this tournament ?
Filthy: Yea I'd say more or less I've played near peak for most games. You're always going to have little things that you don't do so well on a particular day, but I don't think I had a game where I felt I played far below my skill level.

Cure: I see, are you going to be staying in the FXO house in Malaysia?
Filthy: Undecided as of now.

Cure: What are your future SC2 career plans ? Do you plan on going to Korea to compete?
Filthy: They're definitely not set in stone. I'd definitely love to go to Korea to compete, however I feel at the moment my skill level is nowhere near where I'd want it if I was to have a serious crack at GSL.

Cure: Give a tip to all Terran players out there that are struggling.
Filthy: Switch to protoss. More seriously I'd just say try and really understand why you make the decisions you do.

Cure: Any shoutouts or words to your fans out there ?
