Former SlayerS, MMA and Cella join Team Acer

Team Acer has officially acquired the services of former SlayerS members Mun "MMA" Seong Won and Hong "Cella" Seung Pyo, as player and coach respectively.

MMA is one of the world's most famous Korean SC2 players, having won two GSL titles, IEM VI Kiev, MLG Columbus and Iron Squid. His total prize money won stands at a monstrous $176,995, sixth highest of all time in SC2. He has spent much of the last two years as one of the elite Terran players in the world, and will become the only active Terran player in our StarCraft2 line-up.

Cella is best known for his coaching of the SlayerS team and his personality while streaming. For Team Acer he will occupy the role of Asian SC2 coach.


Speaking about joining Acer | MMA explained:

"I am very happy to have met the people and the team. I didn't expect that I would meet people like them. Because of these people and this great environment, I will be able to show great results and I will work hard. Please look forward to my future successes and cheer for me. Team Acer Fighting!"


Acer | Cella had the following to say:
"Choosing the right team is worrisome and problematic, so I'm really happy to be moving to Team Acer.

I was very worried about adapting to a new team, so I really couldn't pick which would be the right team for me. But it was Force Panda Fred's encouragement which moved me and drove me to a decision. I had a lot of talks with Acer and since it sounds like our goals and desires match quite well, I've got no regrets about the decision. We'll do nothing but work hard to achieve those goals. Although right now I cannot say what kind of results I'll show you, I can say that I'll strive to show you something.

With Team Acer, it feels like I'll have more opportunities to shine, and the opportunity for a bright future. Also, I'd like to put every bit of power I have into working hard with them, because there's no doubt that we'll all work hard for the team.

Finally, I want to say “I love you” to SlayerS Jessica, who even now has sacrificed so much and put in so much effort and so much of her heart. And to Yohwan, who was always the encouraging pillar of support when things were hard, and was always able to see the road ahead and light the way when things seemed dark, I want to say that I will forever be grateful.

Now I will accomplish my unrealised dreams with Team Acer, the team that everyone loves and respects. And I will strive to become Acer | Cella."


Team Acer's General Manager, Mr Uwe Semtner, told us:

"With our previous commitment, in terms of Starcraft 2, we joined the North American market, and our lovely Scarlett showed some amazing performances. For us the next logical step is into the Asian market and we are exited as hell to do it together with Hong "Cella" Seung Pyo, as Team Acer Asia Manager, and of course Mun "MMA" Seong Won, as our newest player addition. A warm welcome from all us!

As Team Acer is not even two years old we are extremely happy to be able to get players like MMA into our roster to bring us many great games at events all over the world.

Team Acer's European SC2 Manager Frederick "Kaoru" Gau:

"In Team Acer our line-up has a main critera: We are Zerg, we are using the Starcraft 2 Balance at its best. After this little introduction, I'm truly happy to have MMA and Cella joining our team, as player for MMA and Manager/Coach for Cella.

For people who are wondering why we aren't not recruiting another Zerg, the reason is simple: a certain Artur Bloch challenged me right before the Dreamhack Bucharest with this simple sentence, "Fred, Get MMA". I decided to accept the challenge and here we go!"
