My name is Jun, also known as CryingPoo (CP-Jun on TL for translating), and I just joined the forum. I used to do commentating on SlayerS_Min's stream and am helping various Korean teams and players to communicate with foreign tournament organizers.
I currently live in Brisbane and I am working at an Internet Cafe (Internet City which is located on Albert St, Brisbane CBD). I realized that there are not many SC2 tournaments and not even a Barcraft in Brisbane.
I thought about looking into organizing Barcraft in Brisbane but I am not confident at all whether I can do something that big successfully. So I thought 'hey, since I work at a net cafe - I should organize a tournament here' - I have posted on University of Queensland Starcraft Society Facebook page to see whether people were interested in joining a tournament. I got many positive responses there.
People from UQSCS advised me to find players' reaction on SC2SEA forum - so here I am. I already told my boss how successful it could be and how it can contribute to advertising the net cafe as well as helping competitive gaming scene in Brisbane. He seemed to be impressed and asked me to look into more of running a tournament.
I am totally new to organizing a tournament so I asked my friend, and now I am thinking about following a similar format to Arene Internet Cafe tournaments (http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php...ight=frequency)..
It will be very helpful if you guys could tell me how interested you are. Also if you know how I can reach sponsors - I would be very appreciated :] Please let me know if you have any questions!
