My wife and I have our five year anniversary today and it got me thinking... What type of gifts have the people I have met through sc2 given/received for their anniversaries?
My wife and I follow the "traditional" gift pattern. 5th anniversary is "wood" and this is the gift she received ->

So every year has a special theme? I never heard of this before haha do share more about the themes for other years, it sounds interesting.
As for me, my wife wants another channel bag for her anniversary gift. I'm not a fan of branded stuff but its what she wants so I'm still undecided lol. I think its an insatiable demand and would have to buy a bigger bag to top that next year T_T
...You've raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly sir. Bravo!
More than one present is allowed good sirs.
I will only be posting a picture of this one though so as not to cause jealousy among the community.

We're not into throwing money at material objects for supposed gains in community status which is why we do the more traditional thing but in no way would I say anything against buying your wife a Chanel bag although as you probably already know... the more handbags they have, the more they seem to need =\
Anyway, traditional gifts...
1st - Paper
2nd - Cotton
3rd - Leather
4th - Silk/Linen
5th - Wood
6th - Iron
10th - Tin
15th - Crystal
Not too sure on the others off the top of my head.
As far as I can gather, most couples in Western society loosely follow the gift ideas for the 5th, 10th, 15th etc but not as many go for the every year thing like us.

Well unfortunately for Maynarde I like sparkles of the diamond variety. And expensive dinners. And nice dresses. So yeah, you get the picture that anniversary time for us isn't materialistic at all :P
My wife's more shoes than bags. Luckily that's slightly lighter on the wallet .
Most of our anniversaries revolve around food though. She cooks, or I cook, cook together, or a nice dinner out. Simple simple~
We're actually going out to Kenji Ito's restaurant when it re-opens next week also.
Best Japanese food in Adelaide
Dinner out is always fun (plus a chance to ditch the kids for a night xD )
