Now having said that, I just quickly scanned down my wall and found a few events which I promoted and had absolutely nothing to do with. Many of these were events that YOU streamed. Not to mention the fact that I often Retweet the stuff you post on Twitter as a favour. I advertise your stream during my commentary. I do you a lot of ******* favours, you know? Maybe you could give reciprocation a try someday.

I don't like the asking for subscribers thing. I'll subscribe when and where I want to, don't need bribing to do it. But going off at Benji about it is just a dick move. I've seen no negative comments about Chris or Mayo posting competitions where you have to go comment/like/whatever the **** it is various facebook pages in order to be given a chance to win free stuff.

As I said, I don't like process, but enough with the ******* double standards guys. Either make a fuss when everyone does it or just shut up about it.

Well that's ******* insulting, what the hell do I get out of it? I've spent a TON of my own money on esports events. I paid for my trip to the GC (team pays for players, I paid my own way), I spent my own money getting Light and Mafia to Melb for the Gigabite LAN, I spent my ******* birthday sorting out SGL seating and casting SEACL instead of having dinner with friends or family. But god forbid I ask for a few twitter followers for my teams twitter. Might not seem like a big deal to you, but i'm not exactly floating in money, so when I put my own cash to make an event, its difficult for me. Then to turn around and be called selfish, why do I waste my time and money?

I'd just like to point out that you were not asking for "a couple" of followers. You specifically said 100 followers when the twitter account was sitting at 39. I don't know about you, but asking for nearly 1.5 times your current subscriber base is not "a couple".

First up, I just want to so a big thanks to Benji, the guy spends so much time promoting Xeria (and in turn it promotes City Hunter for us ^_^) and has put quite alot of time working to improve the scene, he isnt paid by either Kingston or City Hunter even for ACL I said he could claim his own flight as he is on the team, he quickly replied "that money is for the players not me", the guy is awesome and its great to see him create these little vlogs!(yes I see them as vlogs and not mini films that need to be perfected edited etc)



The only point of the criticism I agree with is that asking people to follow your twitter without offering a little more incentive then just content, however I understand Benji isnt made of money BUT this is where the sponsors come in

The target is small a mere 100 followers however we'll be giving 5 lucky people a 4G Kingston SD Cards when the target of 100 followers is reached!

To be eligible you must be a follower of @xeriagaming and have tweeted to @xeriagaming atleast once, these tweets must have occurred between 3pm AEDT 25th of January 2012 and when the target is reached, This competition is open to Australia and New Zealand residents only (SEA Residents can enter and then have it sent to a friend in Aus/NZ if they wish, sorry rest of SEA I promise to involve you in a future comp!) C'mon mate... You paid your trip to the Gold Coast because you just assumed you were commentating the event, without even saying a word to me. Don't try to pretend you were there to perform some service for the community. You were pissed off as hell when you saw the announcement that Maynarde & Doble were casting the event, ranting about how it was a huge waste of time and money.

And don't even get me started on our little chat last week. You remember the one? You have my full permission to publish it here for the public to view. I'm sure that would really demonstrate exactly how "community focused" and "selfless" you are.

I already explained the right way and the wrong way to promote your twitter. I don't know why you're blowing up so hard about it. eSports is fuelled by the contributions of volunteers. The sooner you learn that, the better things will be for everyone in this scene.

Massive props to Chris by the way - that's exactly the type of promotion I support. It's healthy for everyone.

Im just going to (as respectfully as possible) say to Dox that you're opinion of the 'right and wrong way to promote your twitter' is just your opinion. It seems just a little high-handed to say that it is the definitive right and wrong way.

I see no difference between offering token prizes (yay, 5 SD cards among 70 subscribers... I only have 3 already) and extra content to lure subscribers. My opinion is that I just hate them equally. Plug yourself whenever and however you want, if people don't like it they will not follow you, simple as that.

No need to have a go at someone because they don't do things the same way as you.
