Its not handing it to people on a plate. Its letting people know that 'Yes it is on Thursday.'
Until something is set in stone that it is on Thursday, no one is 100% sure its going ahead on Thursday, thus the make other plans...
GSL wouldn't announce GSL Novemember on October the 31st and expect people to show up just because 'its common sense that there is a monthly GSL.' Thats just highly unprofessional and again, a low blow...
The issue here is that before this thread we had no idea if we were going to make the playoffs because of the way the ladder was done.
And also we had no idea who we were going to be playing so instead of having a week to reschedule (since we cannot field a team for tonight) we have around a day to reschedule our game.
Wow this is unbelievable.. Here we have 1 guy taking time from his busy schedule( I know he has been working real hard) to try to organize this for everyone to enjoy. And what do people do to thank him? Some mistakes he makes and people jump to bring him down..
Have you all considered how hard it was for him to run this whole event? With 3 teams also pulling out creating a mess for all the match ups and brackets? What I dont get is why are people so concerned about the placements of the play offs who cares who came first or fourth we are still in the play offs I think my team crux-tor have an advantage coz I get more practice with more games played before the finals If we make it that far.. But people are all into their standings and rankings when this was meant to be a friendly way for the clans to connect and have a competitive feel to practicing with one another..
Rly it's a shame how people don't see what goes on in the back ground but are so quick to point fingers...
Mayb nxt time you organize it and see how it feels when everyone points fingers at you for lil mistakes because this just ruins the it...
Erasmus is a good guy and you all should thank him instead of harassing him..
agreed, i'm sorry erasmus/other admins if i came across as upset/abusive/...harass...y?
I'll be in channel PDCL around 8pm AEDT and we will see who is there and whether we can reschedule anything
As far as I'm concerned I see nothing wrong with just doing all of the matches next weekend (thursday round 1, friday or saturday round 2, saturday or sunday grand final - will discuss it with you guys to see which would be best).

Well to me our clan knows that every Thursday there will be a clan league on so I dont see why you have to try find people every week? it has already been told that its a weekly thing so as clan leaders they should know that they need to prepare a team for each week.. i thought that would be common sense...
if everyone waits for things to be handed to them on a plate then nothing will get done people can take the initiative just like TCP who set up their teams so that every week they are ready for when the match ups are sent.
I know its bad that it is sent a day before but Crux-Tor also didnt know it was happening but we have an understanding that our players will be there to support on Thursday. for the teams in the play offs they should know that they will be playing the playoffs so they should have a team ready for when it happens..
to me i feel that its common knowledge that there will be games on thursday and even if my team leader doesnt tell me i plan around that time.
i thought that is what everyone does?
that's how AsG does it too.
we're ready to start but there's no one from crux-tor in PDCL channel at start time? :S

Considering the possibility of incorrect brackets I decided that we will definitely be pushing the playoffs back by 1 week. There were several options on how to take it from here so I'll talk to Erasmus about it but the concensus in the channel with the 16 odd players who turned up that these were suitable solutions:
1) After fixing the brackets, play out round 1 of the finals next Thursday 15th at 8pm AEDT with the existing format as posted in the OP. Round 2 will also be played on Thursday 15th between the loser of the top2 teams and the winner of the 3/4th teams. (The risk here is that one game could go 4-0 giving the players a rest or cooling down, while the other may go 5-4 and be epic making the players exhausted and making the second match start very late). Round 3/grand finals would be played the following thursday (22nd); or
2) After fixing the brackets, alter the format to be a more standard #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 single elimination. This way there are only 2 rounds (semi finals and grand finals) so it fits the truncated schedule of 2 weeks.
Sorry on behalf of Erasmus and any other PDCL admins for the bracket errors, postponements and any inconvenience it has caused any of the players. Let's look forward to a smooth finals series next week
PS - if you have suggestions or comments about the incorrect portions of the brackets please post them here to make it easier to sort out!

Well personally I think we're at the stage of it not mattering any more, I'm happy to play FaDe again to get it over with. We'll have a team of at least 4 on tomorrow night.
Yah Erasmus still MIA No one has posted what results they thought were wrong, I have no idea on that so if you guys are just happy to go ahead with the matchups that were announced last week we might as well just get it started.

AsG hasn't heard anything from Crux-ToR. Can someone get them to contact us or atleast get into the PDCL ingame channel?
Zealo PM'd me and said you guys were good for Saturday afternoon/night instead. This was passed on to Maynarde who is trying to get in touch with the crux-ToR guys.
