Jus wondering, should we have some sort of MVP award? This would be awarded to the person whom the players of the round think has played the best. This would not only encourage people to participate in discussion more, but also encourage more creative play as well as reward deserving players.

I mean, not to take anything away from nard and previous winners, they played their own strategy which got them to the finish, but I'm sure many would agree that not always the 'best player' wins (however you want to define that) and the final run-in tends to be scrappy.

How I suggest this works is perhaps Benji (or myself or anyone) can nominate 3 deserving players, then players will have 24-48 hours to vote for their MVP. The prize? Maybe some sort of forum achievement could be devised, but if not, surely the prestige of being called 'MVP' is attractive enough?

To kick things off, I will nominate 3 people, if anyone has some other nominee please put forward an explanation as to WHY the person deserves it. Perhaps after 24 hours we will start voting on the MVP ( I will PM everyone if necessary)

1) pikk0n
This one player has made this round of Mafia one of the more entertaining ones for me. His effort in composing his long posts is unmistakable, and his risky plays have made waves in the gameplay of this round.
From outright declaring his Mafia status to suddenly switching his stance to be the Informant, noone can deny that pikk0n has made this one hell of a fun round and deserves some recognition.

2) Nobunga
Probably not as aggressive as pikk0n, but no pushover in gameplay intelligence. Shows up occasionally with insightful posts and I feel he just got overshadowed by pikk0n at times and so people don't notice him.
Besides providing sound analysis throughout the game,he has managed to survive till the end despite being singled out as Informant early in the game.
Want more reason to vote him, check out his post towards the ending threads of the Mafia rounds where he explains why he should win the game. If you look past the (feigned?) arrogance, you'll realise he is speaking truth.

3) crAzerk
Played it patiently - waiting for the right moment to say the right thing. Played his cards well to draw enough suspicion to himself before making the game-winning vote switch after he was tied with pikk0n.


Ok I feel embarrassed to write something abt myself hence it's short. Just had to include myself haha.

Anyone else you think should be nominated? Please state your reasons explicitly like I have! (and if you want to provide a short writeup about me to replace what I have wrote please do )

pikk0n for sure. he played his cards. he correctly identified all the Tortellini. and he kept the heat off his family for a long period of time.

LOL! Thanks, crazerk but I'd like to avoid these kind of awards so I can hopefully (fingers crossed in thousands and thousands of ways) come under the radar in the latter rounds. Would hate to be killed on the first night because of an award such as this. Oh, and add to that, my achievement which tells people that I've won A mafia round, Kinda points a huge target on my back.

That said, I made a mistake by killing mustapusta. I'd prefer to have the doc alive longer, which would allow me to make a proper lynch instead of lynching you. I'd have lynched pokerface and Zanderax first. So, not so well played there but meh... Element of luck plays a huge role in mafia. If Bakainu didn't die and Rorshach did, things would have gone much smoother. Luck = mafia. Also, we had certain 'inactive' citizens or rather citizens who didn't really care much about the game or whether they won.

By the way, nard. I picked the informant too. Nobunaga. He's one of the more active informants which is great. Our informants have been quiet as.... My mistake in this round = lynching the joker thanks to pokerface and Zanderax and killing the damn doctor. I should have realised that musta was the doc when he asked the informant to show himself... *sigh*

Another edit since I just read the result of last round's mafia. Congratulations to Nard. He was an excellent mafia buddy and certainly helped make certain arguments of mine easier or at least it gave me different avenues. Nobunaga certainly picked nard as being a mafia because Nobu was the informant and found that nard was sus but kudos to nard for surprisingly being able to avoid being hit by Rorshach and lynched by the citizens during the day.

I'd hate to edit my post for the 4th time so about Nobunaga, he certainly played it well by revealing that he found nard suspicious. That would mean that nard'll have to avoid killing Nobunaga or Rorshach will realise that nard's the last Rosellini. Rorshach either didn't pick this or was trying desperately to find the last Rosellini and from the arguments Nobunaga has had with me, it was obvious that he wasn't in my family so that made him safe in Rorshach's eye. So that's very well thought out.

The argument about lovers.... When nard brought it up, I was surprised that benji made no mention about it immediately. Even I thought that the lovers were in play. I thought that Nobunaga was Zanderax's lover. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
