WCG Singapore Qualifiers 2011

The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011 hosts the Singapore leg of the the World Cyber Games. Top gamers from all over the country gather to battle it out for prizes and the opportunity to represent Singapore at the World Cyber Games Global Finals in Busan, South Korea.

International e-Sports Federation's 2011 Singapore Qualifiers:

TGX will also host the International e-Sports Federation's 2011 Singapore Qualifiers (IeSF) where Fifa Online 2 and Starcraft 2 will be played. will similarly be held in Andong, South Korea.

The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011 – Asia’s most Comprehensive Games Expo is back!

Singapore, 18 May 2011: The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011- Asia’s most comprehensive games expo is back in Singapore for the third time by popular demand. This mega gaming exhibition will be held at Singapore Expo Hall 5A from 9-11 September 2011. There will be more than 30 exhibitors including, game publishers, game developers, game tournaments, gaming hardware and software.

TGX2011 is organised by MediaCorp VizPro International and Rapture Gaming. Official media partners include Gamespotasia, CNET Asia, GameStation, Mineski.net and Playworks. Official partners include Kingston, Gunnar Optiks, Blk-A Pictures, Asia Events with support from IE Singapore, Games Exchange Alliance, e-Sports Association (Singapore) and the Singapore Cosplay Club.

At the exhibition, visitors can experience the latest online games like Dragon Nest, a free-to-play 3D action multiplayer online role playing game (3D ACTION MORPG) title by Shanda Games. Gamers will compete in the World Cyber Games (WCG) and International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) Singapore Qualifiers. Official games titles include Starcraft2, Counter-Strike S1.6, League of Legends, FIFA Online 2, Sushido, Stwack, Buffet Wars, Blackshot, GoKart and more. Champions from Singapore will be selected to represent Singapore in the WCG Grand Finals held in Korea from 8 to 11 December this year.

Mr Herman Ng, Managing Director of Rapture Gaming says, “TGX 2011 is going to be more exciting than previous years. It’s all about games and there will be something for everyone! We have new games on show, comprehensive tournament broadcasts and cosplay performances.”

Running alongside the exhibition is TGX Connect, a dedicated business–to-business matchmaking event that is a one-stop business centre for one on one meetings with potential partners that come from the entire spectrum of the gaming industry.

Mr Aroon Tan, President of the Games Exchange Alliance (GXA) says, “TGX 2011 is a strategic platform for gaming companies to explore business opportunities in the region. GXA will play host to facilitate business meetings between local and foreign gaming companies.”

Promotional events leading up to TGX 2011 include games showcase in malls and school tours.
