So what tournaments can i join? I don't want to get in trouble for smurfing if that's what it would be, but also don't know how long it will take me to get to Plat on SEA.

I think if you have done more games than just your placement games for SEA that's fine - Gold on SEA is around Plat level on NA anyway.

i thought gold on SEA was grandmaster on korea and grandmaster on korea was master on NA?

Thats normal. At one stage I was silver on sea but Plat on NA.
