As an unexperienced Terran player, I always try to do a siege tank/marine push at around 8-9 mins with 2 siege tanks. But I always get overwhelemed with a huge speedling and baneling force, and after that, every time I push with marines and siege tanks I'll get smashed into pieces because there are just too many banelings and speedlings to handle. so how do you deal with it as terran? because in mid game, ultras will start coming, and marine, siegetank, thor is not that viable until then!!! >.<
One thing about tank positioning is using the map/terrain to your advantage. Also, get into the habit of denying scouting at the Xel'Naga Towers.
Obviously maps such as Typhon Peaks are pretty effective, so think about all the choke points at other maps (pretty obvious one on Shakuras relative to Z's spawn location) and where you can get a good solid positioning and start working your pushes around those.
Also rather micro intensive, but if you can, split up your tanks.
It's great that you know the timing to push out, but there may be a problem with your execution or unrelated factors (are you pressuring them early game, for example?). So hopefully you don't mind showing us some replays
One bit of micro you can pick up is Siege Tank focus fire. You have on idea how effective this is - You need to micro your Siege Tanks to focus fire BANELINGS, and not just let them autoattack away, because any decent zerg will run in lings (or maybe roaches) first to draw fire from your tanks, so that their banelings can clean up your marines.
Also that kind of attack only works to punish overdroning zergs. You can fake with that sort of attack to force units and then pull back but you need to sense/scan overdroning in order to gain anything from committing to this pressure.
Also make sure you macro behind it or rally units in and get great positioning so that you can trade efficiently.
agree with PiG very much so but if you are committed to the marine tank attack then perhaps a small delay on the push adding a third tank and hellion harass in the early game almost forcing a zerg out of heavy zergling builds. But still micro and positioning is very important.

An unashamed plug for myself.
try pushing earlier wif bf hellions and maruaders... maruaders can tank for u and kill queens and spine crawlers... ur hellions can whip away those lings and when u r at his base, go for the drones while ur marauders do the tanking job...
for me i usually go 2 rax tech lab, 1 rax reactor( or 1 factory wif reactor), 1 factory tech lab, 1 starport

Wow Ur asking him to do something totally different from his current strat.
To the OP, try faking early pressure with Ur first two marines w/ 2 scvs. U may actually catch the Zerg not handling it correct and losing the game there and then.
Zerg needs drones. Drones come from larvae. Army comes from larvae too. Make them build lings instead of drones early on, their economy is slowed. Less economy less army. That's why playing Zerg is mucho difficulty.
Long story cut short, harass them. Never let them settle into a comfortable drone building start.
