What about if you make it no prize and sc2sea members only for 3 weeks, and then the final tournament of the month will be the top players from the other weeks invited to play for $$$ :0
Community tournaments are great because no matter what happens, people will be playing sc2 games and if you throw in an incentive to play, they'd surely hop on.
Custom titles and non monetary incentives like deL's wiki page are a good idea for internal community tournaments and I'm all for having them but the problem would be the small player base.
However with a tournament prize pool coming up, we're gonna have a chance to rope in lots of people who are already not on the site to take note of us.
I'd honestly like to see some weeknight 1v1s or 2v2s coming up with small prize pools, like 10 bucks to the winner. This would be awesome because this would give casters a chance to strut their stuff broadcasting the matches
All they had to do was to throw up a splashscreen in between games advertising where the money was being funded from and i'm sure we'd have quite a few people signing up.
So that being said, on the weekday nights that i'm free, or even weekend nights whenever. I'll be pretty happy helping to organize some tournaments, usually wednesday, fridays or sundays. We should go for timings that don't already have events, especially like GSL and yoz's SEA opens. So yeah.

imo if sc2sea has a pool of casters we can look for sponsers to pool in some money. i can talk to some companies to sponser some funds not much just so that during breaks or something we can put their logo etc.
sounds commercial but it helps bring up the site, provided we have a steady traffic pool of viewers during matches and site visits.
Yeah for sure. I dont think we would have any problems getting casters. Thankfully we have quite a lot of good casters in SEA that we can use. Would be something to consider for sure.
Probably not for the community tournament thing just because we just want it to remain in the community for fun and to intermingle. Dont want people showing up once a week to try and win money then never show up again. But for running other tournaments sure.

That will be great actually. Talked to two huge companies but the reponse has been hesistant or they offer too low end prizes. PM me your msn please! Definetly wont mind putting their logo in return for sponsorship of funds.
i'd play weeknight 1v1s too, and it'll be good to have non diamond 1v1s or opens, and then restricted nights too, or once interest drums up, we could have them going concurrently even. personally i'd play in a weeknight 1v1 if it happens too

This is already the case, unfortunatly all the different casters use different streaming services and different quality streams which makes it inconsistant. This deters alot of sponsors for doing something.
The best way to fix this would be to put all the casters under one banner, but a few months ago i tried this but it fell through.
What sponsors care about is exposure, i know i havent been casting lately in the past few weeks but its been because I have been updating my streaming system to accomodate things that sponsors want!
for EG. the FXopen tournament next weekend i am doing. ($1000 first place prize)
- Video Intro for FXopen before each match.
- Audio interviews with players during intermission of matches
- Video overlay during games to promote FXopen
- VOD's up within 24 hours on youtube.
but MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, is the proffesionalism of the cast itself. eg, silly jokes, talking shit etc, while some gamers prefer the laid back attitude i can guarantee you big sponsors done. Trust me i have spoken to a few.
They also want stats tracking. EG from Ustream for a couple of my casts
There is NO WAY i would have secured $1000 without that kind of support/exposure for them.
Now This unfortunatly to give the sponsors isnt possible with your basic tools given to you by the Ustream/livestream free service i have spent months figuring out the best way to do it all but it does look alot better now! Only thing i have left to do is update my PC so i can finally do 720 P casts (i am about 10% CPU power off )
That being said if any up and coming casters would like some help with the extra software ETC i am more than willing to help since i simply cant cover every event in the next 2 weeks i have about 8 events im covering lol.
unstable, setting up casting under a common banner would be awesome, want to talk about it or discuss it? there's plans for people in singapore to do that but just for singapore alone might be too small a slice of the pie, if you're willing to put up some plans and have people on board perhaps i could get some guys to sit in and get some proper discussion going. and hell who knows, we could do nation wars coverage seriously and grab some sponsorship while we're at it

@ nirvAnA : haven't used my msn in years.. hope its still alive seravh@gmail.com
@ Unstable : yep traffic stats, is a base for the sponsers to really know if their money is put to good use where it counts. if we can hit 10k or more im sure there would be people interested.

I am interested in what you have got setup, software/hardware requirements and also advantages to this setup. MSN/Skype or Forums?
I'd be interested in participating in Bronze/Silver/Gold tournament as well as watching a live stream of the Plat/Diamond members duking it out!
Weekly tournaments with small prize pools (or even just rewards as suggested by deL) would be a nice way to strengthen the community while less regular tournies with bigger prize pool would help in attracting new members.
