If you guys didn't know Elysium just started a survey for the tournaments they could hold in the school/uni holidays/break. I was going to organise an even with these guys anyway, after my little in-house tournament with my friends.
The reason behind my sudden inspiration was that I was doing some reading and I saw the SC UQ society was doing so well (heck one of them even beat me in a 1v1 last week). This made me think that it could be time to offer Brisbane Starcraft2 more of a related community. As such, I'm using this as a general consensus of who would be interested in getting together to just play sc2! Unstable, Nirvana, I'm looking at you two in particular! (or mOOnGlade when he comes back to visit)
For future reference, I have no idea what prizes could be or when the specific dates of the event are (but if the responses are quick, I'll be able to oragnise it sooner).
So if you guys are in Brisbane (the place where the best sc2 players in Oz live!) and want a local LAN competition make sure you vote on Elysium's FB page.
(Elysium and The Bunker are owned by the same people)
Would so love to see something happening in Brisbane!
Even though I still live 4 hours away I'd drive down to make it to as many evernts as I could. Heck I'm even looking at moving to Bris to try to get something going :]
I've even considered doing uni just to get into the SC2 society at UQ haha, but I really haven't got anything I want to do seriously.
Nice to see people stepping up and try to increase the closeness of the SC community here in Brisbane. I founded the UQ Starcraft club and now Im the vice-president and at our AGM this week we were wondering where we could hold our major semester tournament so Ill definitely check Elysium out.
Although we are an UQ club we are accepting members from all of Brisbane so check our FB group out: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=...662566070&ap=1 and join our site: http://uqstarcraft.webs.com/. We can help each other to organize an SC2 tournament.
PS. Awesome how everyone here is foreverbronze
Cheers Skrewby, I was going to check it out, however I just left uni (not by my own choice) and I'd feel weird or like I was imposing on your club (considering I'm an ex-griffith student). I was thinking of having a specific Brisbane starcraft 2 community that was seperate from the University society but if you want to work with what I'm looking at creating, that would be absoloutely fantastic!
Actually, #foreverbronze is pretty much a thing elimzKE and I have going, that we're trying to make catch on in the sc2 communtiy. It's also become a bit of a clan tag (changed from anaTheme) because we weren't serious enough for our old clan tag, lol.
Aero, I'm looking at moving out of my parents in the next 12 months (lol, I'm 18 shut up) to pretty much have a clan house closer to the city (I live about 40 minutes away from the CBD), so I see what you mean. Like people asked me all of last year 'what do you want to do when you leave school'... I think the best thing for me to do is make Brisbane the HUB of e-Sports in the SEA region especially considering we have some of the best starcraft players in the country. Future huge tournaments held in Sydney or Melbourne? Hell no, the competition is in Brisbane baby!
Also @ Skrewby, Elysium is a smaller LAN cafe, so I'd probably recommend TheBunker if you've got a lot of members. Hell, if you had time I'm sure that organising a BYOC + an event hall... <-nevermind we don't have LAN support for sc2../rage.

We have a few QUT and Griffith students in our society as well as alumni and work force members so its a pretty open club.
I heard of a company that does LAN events in an event hall and provide internet so Ill check that out also. Haha foreverbronze is usually my sig in other sites. Represent
