So I've been thinking about new years resolutions and what I want to achieve in the next year. Made me wonder what type of aims people have for the new year. Also how are you going to achieve them?
My aims are:-
1.Get good at sc2 (win a tourny or two)
2.Beat Jazbaz and Another in a bo5 or greater
3.Stop eating so much crap
4.Lift more than Cabracan (damn that guy can lift)
5.Manage my time better
How im going to achieve them:-
1. Start playing again and more often (less work this year and flatting so will be easier). Also new comp from summer work moneyz
2. Plan better for Jaz with actually practicing more than 1 PvZ strat, vs Jamie not sucking would help
3. 1 take out meal a week to allow maccas on the way home from drinking etc
4. Break his arms sometime
5. Getting a planner or diary and actually planning my time
So yea interested to hear what you guys have planned and will be fun to look back on this in a yearish time. Putting it in writing helps stick to it I've found

okay, I guess I'll be serious
My aims are
1. Get good at a game which isn't tetris, this can be LoL, Starcraft, or whatever
2. Stream much more, aiming for 100 followers on twitch by the next New Year
3.
4. Push AxiS into a formidable clan and get a decent standing in SEACL3
5.
1 Lose 10kg
2 Play less video games. Be more productive.
3 Create something. Anything.
1. By cooking for myself and steering clear of take away for the last month (except for the maccas home after a night out hahah) and a half, I've managed to shave off five. If I keep this up, as well as exercising every now and then, I should be able to hit my goal by March/April. The ladies will follow.
2. This one is a killer. I've been gaming since I was four. And I don't intend to stop. I love it. Just cut back a bit. I hate to say it, but for me personally, there really are bigger things in life than the vidya
3. Time to actually achieve something with my life! The tricky part is, I'm not sure exactly what. But I'll get there.
Hope to see you achieve all of that Stallion! #STALLY2013!
Edit: Oh oh, I'm going to start a blog as well!

The biggest differences I found for myself when trying to achieve any goal is having measurable results and a detailed structure.
You are on track expanding on your goals and how you intend to get there - the deeper you go the better.
E.G With my goal to be Masters NA by my 22nd Birthday (20th Feb) I have worked out which days I can play and for how long. From there I could see how much time I had available to me and how many hours on any of those given days I would need to play to feel like such a goal would be achievable. I also have a document prepared for practice notes and advice I receive throughout my play to try to maximise my effectiveness.
If I make it or not isn't the point, having a rigorous structure sets you up for a successful attempt, one more realistic and feasible.
EDIT: Oh and one more thing, great in putting it out there publicly.. the more people you tell about the more people will hold you to account and keep you fighting when you don't want to. It goes for anything. If you have a dream or a vision you want to have happen, don't expect it to be an enjoyable and successful journey if you don't let people around you know about it. May make you vulnerable and have the potential to fail but the difference it makes having the support of a community is invaluable.
quit sc2 its a horrible and evil game that does nothing to benefit my life. people are cool though.
focus on my studies for once.
have homosexual relations with spartaz
not sure if i should be flattered or offended that you don't want to beat me in a bo5!
its more the fact we have had battles and both had victories where i have real mental issues with Jaz and Jamie as im like "i can't win" or lose concentration and muck up attacks or make a decision i know is bad, its nothing towards you Mack
Last year it was to reach masters. I only just made it to diamond, so I came up a bit short. This year, the goal is KR masters.
Also, I want to compete more in offline events, especially ACLs but whatever else. I don't expect to win or do well, but I really want to use LANs as a way to focus my practice efforts, and even if I go 0-2 0-2 in every event I attend, I want to at least be able to say that I improved and at each one gave myself a better shot than the last.
Lastely, I want to take a game off someone good. A legit game. Not them trolling me. Just because I need to one up the time I nuked iNControL's army on stream.
Outside the game, get more exercise (my health and fitness have really declined the past 12 months, so a return to fitness would be good). I'd like to follow Stally's example and work fitness into my SC2 regime somehow.

1. Lose some weight. I lost a bunch a while ago now, but laziness, not eating right and just working a lot where I'm sitting at a desk i've put it back on a bit. I have a proper eating plan and an exercise plan now so I'm going to try to stick with it for a bit in the new year.
2. Get to masters. I've been rank 1 in my division on NA every time I've laddered since I cleared my bonus pool. Struggling to get my points up past mid-600's though due to a bunch of stupid losses. Still, I think I'm close and would like to actually get to masters just once before HotS rolls around.
My New Year's resolutions, in no particular order:
Get better at Starcraft 2, MUCH... better.
I'm still a Gold league level player in my opinion, but at the mGG Race Wars earlier today I did beat one of the Masters players in mGG (out of luck, tbh, he really kept me on my toes but I chose to not give up in game and also not think I have no chance because of his level). This made me realize that my level of play is going beyond that right now and since I can see that window of opportunity (i.e. that skill plateau I have dissipating), I'm just gonna jump right on that train and take full advantage of how far I can go. I don't know if I can reach GM SEA or not, but if I do, well, hell, time to go for GM NA and then KR after that.
I gotta stop being intimidated by the levels really, that's the important thing. And I still have a bit of ladder anxiety which hopefully should be gone soon. I did say I was gonna keep an update on how I go in terms of laddering, so I will make a blog maybe later, or tomorrow about it.
I turn 20 in February, so I better grow the eff up and be a better person.
For a 19 year old, I still think I'm stupidly immature.. I mean, immaturity keeps us young but I think I should show more of being mature now. Also I just gotta stop thinking about stupid crap and live on like a boss.
I have very bad fitness and body shape, I need to get fit and I gotta lift bro.
I'm really friggin' lazy, but recently I have started to lift and do cardio work, and get more and more motivated to do them more often.
Get a job, and save up for holidays.
I've been REALLY stressed lately and deserve a vacation, but because I don't really like relying on my parents for money and also they're extremely stingy, I need to get a job, and doesn't matter what it is really, as long as I can earn something. Then, save up enough, and go on a holiday somewhere.
Stally said I should go NZ and drink with him, so that might be a good idea.
Work a lot harder in uni than before.
As before I stated I'm a lazy ass, and I've gotta improve in uni. I failed one subject in the semester that just went past and have to re-do the exam again. 2013 better not have any of that. Seeing as it'll be a long, hard road as I'm in my 2nd half of 2nd year starting at the end of February, and will be a 3rd year starting late July.
I hope to get some degree of all of these in 2013, with study, getting fit and getting a job being the most important of them.
