[ToR]Av.ToRZooM talks IEM, Team ToR, new partnership!
First of all thank you for your time Heng Jin Kwee
Just so everyone can get a rough idea, how long have you been playing RTS games for/give us a background of your gaming history?
[ZooM] I played the original DotA when I was younger. I've played DotA for maybe 2years, after DotA I got introduced to competitive starcraft from watching commentaries by HuskyStarcraft.
When did you first join clan ToR?
[ZooM] After the disbandment of the clan CRUX which was probably about 9months ago. I just wanted to chill around with a group of friends, so Spartaz approached me to join ToR so I did.
How did it feel when Nick came up to you asking you to join Team ToR? Did you have to even consider it?
[ZooM] I was definitely considering about it, but I did not want to play competitively because I was afraid of not showing good results. Eventually Spartaz helped me to think this through and from there I joined Team ToR.
What are your thoughts on the rest of the players, training or practice schedule, etc.?
[ZooM] The players in Team ToR are definitely really good at Starcraft, we get along really nicely, everyone is really nice to each other. We don't have like a scheduled practice time we just pm each other if we want to practice or improve a specific matchup for upcoming events.
Recently it was announced that Team ToR has joined the Avant gaming roster. How exciting is this for you?
[ZooM] When I first joined Team ToR, everyone in Team ToR were waiting for a sponsor to sponsor us. Spartaz tried setting up clanwars and teamleagues to try to get Team ToR more publicity. When Spartaz announced that we were going to the Avant Gaming roster, we were all really excited because this could be the first step to becoming better players.
How do you feel you and the rest of Team ToR will benefit from this new partnership?
[ZooM] I feel that when we go to offline events, we get to at least represent that we can be proud of. I feel that when you are in a sponsored team and you go to offline events, the main priority is to obviously win but also to show the world what or who you are representing.
In the next few weeks you will be attending IEM Singapore hoping to qualify through the open bracket, how do you feel about your chances?
[ZooM] To be honest, I'm kind of in a slump at the moment. I've been making many mistakes during my games, and I haven't been practicing a ton because of that slump. Frankly speaking, I don't think I have a chance to qualify because there are really good players in that open bracket. But i'll definitely try my absolute best.
Will we be likely to see you attend future big events in the future?
[ZooM] Maybe, like I said I'm in that slump that is unrecoverable, practicing is just making me feel more sad. But if I do manage to get out of that slump then I'll will definitely be going to more future events.
And last words to your fans/people who read this?
[ZooM] First of all, thank you for interviewing me and thank you for reading this interview, I love all of you no homo.
Thank you for your time and good luck for the tournament!
