Starting on the 11th of November 2012 mGG will hold a new in-house tournament for all members of any league. The tournament will be held regularly throughout the year and feature the swiss tournament format. The swiss format allows anyone of any league play and get fair and balanced games against people of their own level. So even if you're new to starcraft, just returning from a break or if your a Grandmaster this tourney should be a lot of fun!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CASTERS! (If your interested to cast some best of three's from replays please post your information here or PM me. It does not have to be for the entire 5 weeks although that is preferrable.)
BRACKETS: Initial round 1 parings are now available for everyone to see! These lineups are unlikely to change significantly unless more people join. Also due to the odd number of participants 1 bye will be handed out each week. Ideally we would love an even number so if you know one person who is mGG and hasn't signed up get them to!!
Head over to http://challonge.com/mggsummerswiss for brackets and the leader board or click 'Round 1 Parings and Results' to see all the current pairings and the starting map for the current round. Each week this page will be updated to show pairings and the results from the previous rounds.
Round 1 Pairings, Results and Starting Map:(subject to possible change before registration closes on November 11th)

Format: Swiss (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament) Duration:5 weeks (changed from 6 weeks to 5 because 6 weeks ends 2 days before christmas). Date: November 11th - December 16th Tournament Administrator: mGGCwnAnnwn Rules:
Games are to be played from the monday till the friday of the week following the posting of matchups by the tournament administrator. Players are responsible for arranging an appropriate time to play the match during the week with their opponent.
All matches are a best of 3, the results and replays of which are to be recorded and sent to the tournament administrator by the friday of each round/week.
Points for a win result in 1 point, 0.5 for a draw and 0 for a loss. 1 point is awarded per bye. Points are awarded for the overall win/loss of the best of 3 and not the number wins/losses per map (eg. player [A] defeats player [B] 2-1 in a best of 3. This would result in 1 point for the winner and 0 points for the loser).
The starting map will be for each round will be set beforehand by the tournament administrator, following this the loser will pick the nest map from the listed map pool. Each round will have a different starting map. Each player has 1 map veto per round.
If a player disconnects during a game after 10mins of play it is considered a loss of that map. However if they disconnect before 10mins they get 1 rematch. A second disconnect (at any time in the game) will result in the loss of that map.
The typing of GG is considered a forfeit (except at start of the game, eg. gg hf gl). So if you offensively GG or GG and keep playing on it is still considered a loss.
Registration: You must be a member of mGG. Reply to this thread with your name and league or PM on sc2sea or ingame. Registrations must be complete by November 10th.
