I am currently looking at organising an All-Kill format tournament (Look here for more info: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/All-Kill_Format) for platinum to masters players. What this would involve is getting together a team of around 4 players and getting everyone to come online together once a week to play your games against another team. As the tournament is "winner stays on" your whole team would need to be there. This tournament would be a casual affair, aimed at giving aspiring players a taste of tournament action in a team atmosphere. All-Kill format also happens to be extremely fun!
If any of you aspiring captains would be keen to pull together a team and participate in this tournament: just let me know! You can post on this tread or flick me an email (chazaruff@gmail.com).
Any further questions, feel free to ask! I will provide more information when I have an idea of the teams who are interested.
If you're promoted to GM then firstly congrats! And secondly, I'm happy to allow GM ranked players too if they're interested. So let me know if you manage to get together a team and I'll get further details to you once I hear from a couple of others.
Hey, you say team size of around 4; will these same players need to played each round? Would a Bo7 all kill team league format be better if you have substitutes? Otherwise it would seem to be kind of bad for a team to have players who are busy (I know that I myself have been playing very little for the past week). So wouldn't it better to have it same format as GSTL?
Hey FLuX, I was actually intending for the format to be very similar to GSTL, and with at least four players on each team then the Bo7 format is definitely viable. No the players wouldn't have to be the same each round. If a team wants to field a whole different side (due to availability or any other reason) that is fine so long as captains provide a list of players who may be competing at the start of the tournament and keep it updated. I hope that answers your questions.
Yes Another, I see your point. This post was meant to see if people were interested participating in this kind of tournament. I was intending on making another thread with details if there were enough people interested. It's looking pretty promising, so I'm going to sort out information for people and put it in a proper thread. Keep an eye out.
Cool, thanks. How will you be planning to make it balanced? i.e. a team can't field a team of all masters vs all platinums? You should look at placing rules around this Thanks, gl for your tournament, I look forward to seeing it start up
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

In response to Flux's point, maybe you could have different divisions? Like a Master/Gm division and a bsgpd division?
This could definitely work; I'm interested to see that actually. Otherwise you could set it up so that each player is put against an opponent who can be no more than 1 league up or down. So, let's say a player is Diamond, and is the 2nd seed for his team. That means the other team for that round has to bring out a player who is either from Platinum, Diamond, or Masters league. It makes sense and it would be more inclusive for teams with a range of skill levels
