The wait is finally over! The highly anticipated MMO Guild Wars 2 is set to launch this weekend! In addition to normal PVP, the game will feature a world-versus-world experience that pits entire servers against each other in two-week-long wars.

"Guild Wars 2 is launching at a time when players are looking for something different in an MMO - a game that offers them an innovative and unique experience without a monthly subscription,” said Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet.

Features:

Dynamic Events: Guild Wars 2 is a living, breathing world where events occur naturally and dynamically in response to players’ actions. This system fosters cooperation between players which will naturally encourage cooperation instead of competition with each other.
Personal Stories: Your deeply customized personal story begins when you first create your character, then twists and turns with each fateful decision you make.
Action-Oriented Combat: Guild Wars 2 is an action game where survival in combat is based on timing, skill, and movement. Well-timed dodges or combo attacks are integral to any battle. Guild Wars 2 will focus on quality of skills over quantity.
PvP is a heavy focus of the game and there will be two types available in Guild Wars 2: World PvP and Structured PvP. In structured PvP players will be granted access to all skills, items so that all players will be on a level playing field. Whereas in World PvP it depends on the skills and level you are at during that particular point of time.

Its been 5 years since GW2 was announced, i remember playing Prophecies when i was like 12, my first MMO (that i liked), i was so excited when i found out There would be a sequel, not just more expansions- a sequel, something far beyond the scope of the original.

in about 13 hours i get to play that game. F**kyeeeeeeeeah

This is going to be huge! I've been in every beta event and I can safely say it's killed other MMO's for me. So excited for this game my hair is falling out with anticipation.

Thanks for posting the Lore video, I've watched all 5 so far and found they missed quite a bit but for how short and entertaining they are it's fantastic.

Its also important to note that they have said they may open the servers up to three hours earlier. So 2pm AEST onwards.

I'll be back with my GW1 buddies who played lots of GvG into the top 100 rankings on Isle of Janthir. I'll be on some iteration of "Mezza". Most likely "Mezza Mictain" will be my first character, so look me up if you're on Isle.
