Smiley: Cool [Contest] FRAGFEST Starcraft 2 Online tournament

Hey all,

My friend was hosting a small Online tournament for Starcraft 2 and I thought I should post about it here for you guys

You can view all the information about it here in the ruleset.

The prize is a BenQ 24 inch monitor.

It is hosted out of Chennai, India.
Anyone who is playing outside of India will have to bear shipping charges for the prize.

Now for the sad part. This is pretty short notice considering registration closes tomorrow 25th of August at 12:00am IST. I recommend you register asap if interested.

For registering you'll need to make an account on the frag-nation.in website.
The registration fee is as follow: USD 5 / 800 Yen / 8 EUR
The payment cant be made on this page. It has to be made separately.

Payment can be made via paypal, information for which you can find in the ruleset linked above.

I dont really have anything to gain out of this guys, just helping out a friend.

Cheers

yep.. Send him your eSports money..
Shipping charges on a monitor to Australia would be about as much as the monitor....

:-) sounds fun, if it was free entry.

I agree with you man, really wish I could help it.

Maybe for someone closer it can be more economical.

Sorry lordnod but due to the nature of internet scams online tournaments are not usually given a signup fee. Until you prove yourself as dedicated to adminning fantastic tournaments no-one outside of your country will signup to this.

Add a last minute post and no real info about the organisers and there really isnt much point in your post. I hope I don't sound offensive cos there is a chance you and your friend are doing some good. However don't hope to make a loving off starcraft unless you are willing to sweat and bleed. To get involved you need volunteer admin and sponsor covered prizes including shipping.

I am doing with loving off starcarft :D

@PiG
Your caution is very valid and I dont feel at all offended. Hell, your suspicion is absolutely well founded when I think about how this post looks like.

Honestly the reason this thread was posted at the last moment is because we weren't getting too many Indian participants(Starcraft isnt very big in my country) and we thought we can maybe get some more participation if we made it an international event. I apologise for the tardiness.

I know how this post looks and I would like to try and maybe curb your suspicions by telling a few things about who I am and what I do. I like gaming very much and thankfully have reached a point in my life where I can atleast realistically attempt to help improve and make bigger, the gaming scene in India.

I dont need to make money off of gaming, my main business venture is sufficient to support my lifestyle.
IGC or Indian Gaming Carnival was a very disappointing and simply depressing failure for e-sports in India. You can google it or look here http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=327992

IGC happened in march immediately after which me and a couple of volunteers did an in-house LAN party at my office. We got the Thai Battlefield 3 team and Starcraft 2 player(MiTH.Red.Archon and MiTH.GuNoob) to play with a couple of Indian clans and SC2 players. I and many more couldn't bare to see them go back home taking just the 'IGC experience'.

I am not an event/tournament organiser. I mainly help them set up and handle media. I have a casting channel on twitch.tv and youtube.

Alienware's GameVictorious and AEC Japan both had qualifiers in India that were handled by Rapture Gaming India. I helped cast these events online as I am currently working with the head of Rapture Gaming India with his other gaming events namely ICGC. This link is the GameVictoriousIndia channel on twitch.

No one is paying me to do this. I am explaining all this not too prove how good or awesome I am but because I want to show that all isnt bad and there are some good people trying to do something respectable for E-sports in India. I work with these people to make good things happen.

As for shipping, sadly the sponsors were only willing to go so far.

p.s raZiel(An indian player) actually beat Red.Archon They are gonna go up against each other again at AEC Japan.
