Way too many Min & Gas

I have this rather annoying occurrence almost every game. Once I hit more than one base, my gas and mineral count starts to rise in a rapid fashion. I usually just spam out some appropriate units for my situation, take a third and research some more tech. But quickly I see my stockpile re-appear. I know this isn't what I want, so, what are some other simple ways I can keep my gas and minerals below roughly 500 each..??

macro well with pylons and never supply blocking and more units and then gates is a simple way of thinking . Do i need a pylon, make probes(until max saturation), make units, Do i have extra money? yes ok then more gates. extra gas shouldn't really be a problem as you are generally short on minerals. If you feel you are getting way too much you can adjust your gas timings so you dont have as much early and get an expand earlier or more gates. really its just macro just keep practicing til you get to the point you feel you never have enough money

If you find that you are still sky rocketing, just drop more gateways/robotics bays etc. Until you can successfully spend all of your resources. As you progress and get better with macroing, you will notice that you are building less gateways but can still keep your minerals and gas low.

yep the biggest thing id suggest is try to get to 100 supply without supply blocking and never missing worker production til you have max saturation on 3 base from there if you learn to just spend money you will find you will improve greatly. also ofc you keep upgrading the number you arn't allowed to supply block before. i give myself a punishment of 20 push ups for any match i supply block these days

LOL your not actually meant to do the punishment tho is the trick :P cos you macro well :P

Dont 't be scared to push out lots of players in lower leagues tend to be too passive and max out on armies and in games that go for like 40 minutes. Try to push out when you have certain timings against your opponent for example when you have 3 colusus or when 2-2 upgrades hit that way you have a chance of doing significant damage and potentially winning the game. Don't throw your army away against his econ but try to create a significant army and push out whilst doing harass to delay his econ. I find this is most easy for lower league players without throwing away units that could potentially be worthless

Make sure you don't get supply blocked, add double amounts of gates for double amount of probes. However, since you're not trying to fast expand, you can sometimes even go for more than double amount of production when you take your natural. For example, when you expand off 3 gates, unless you want to expand twice really quickly (since instead of adding one base, you're really trying to double your income and so you'd need to expand twice to double income again) you can go up to 7 or 8 gates, or start some colossi. After a while, you'll get used to double base income, like you're probably used to 1 base income (or else you'd be floating off 1 base).
From your OP, I can tell you're doing the right things. You're macroing, teching, and expanding. However, you're not adding on your tech/expands fast enough, which makes the money skyrocket. I guess that's a big part of the problem.

Just need to get more gates and like drop 3-4 pylons at once in mid late game so that u wont be supply blocked and get more gates than u need so that even if u miss warp ins u can still macro well also take extra bases and pylons around that map if have extra minerals

I find a good rule of thumb is, whenever you take another base (unless Forge Fast Expanding) add three more gates (essentially have 3 gates per base) . Once you're stable on 2 bases, add a robo (either before or after your gates). Then tech switch as appropriate. Six gates and a Robo on two bases spends your money pretty well if you don't miss a cycle and don't get supply blocked

(Once you hit 200/200 add a thousand more gates for reinforcement :P)

Hmm, just a suggestion here.

I play Terran, so take this for what it's worth.

If you seem to be floating that many minerals after 1 base. I'd go back to the literal basics. By this I mean, 1 Gate FE into doing nothing but producing Gateways, Zealots, Probes and Pylons (Keeping money low). This may sound boring but truth of the matter is I believe this will help you improve immensely. Simply put, it will get you into the rhythm of constantly producing and macroing at a pace which you will eventually get used to. Once your comfortable with this, then go onto learning a build and sticking with it. I think you will find that once you learn whatever build you choose, you will have the most important basics down pat and it will become 2nd nature;

- Constantly producing probes, pylons and gateways.

Myself, I'm only plat level and have tried this concept with Terran. It actually opened my eyes up and made me realise just how shit my worker production was. For some reason, I had it in my head that I should be happy to have 60 workers @ 15 minutes off a 1 Rax FE.... What was I thinking? -_-

After doing this exercise, I realized I should be aiming for 54 workers @ 10 minutes! (Quite sad I've only hit this number a few times only) I suggest trying it and seeing what you think, oh and if your worried about losing ladder games just try it on custom. However I literally have replays here where I win against Platinums building nothing but scv's, depots, naked raxes and marines............

So you think that learning this new build, 1 Gate FE (is that fast expo?), forgetting pretty much everything I've previously learnt and starting from scrap is where I should go, even though I already have two builds leant and working well enough for me already that I win quite a few games??

It depends what builds you actually do. 1-gate FE should be your go to build against Terran.
Remember you're not aiming to win, you're aiming to improve, by learning a fast-expand build and practising your macro you might lose a few games at first, but you will become a better player for it, by learning how to macro well.
1-base all-ins (if that's what you do) can only get you so far.

Just a note, however, don't "unlearn" your builds, just learn more of them (I recommend macro-oriented styles for practise), and throw in some of your older builds now and then, just to mix it up.

My go to openers are:

PvP: 3 Stalker Rush (Reasonably tricky as you have to have some micro ability and good macro at least for the opening)
PvT: 1 Gate Expand (usually quite safe, depends if your foe is expanding themselves or not).
PvZ: Forge fast expand (very safe build, pretty much the go to opener for all Protoss versus Zerg)

I do this, except in PvP I 4-gate :P
If I ever play a PvP, then get a rematch, I tend to go phoenix.
