Just a for warning this is most liking going to be a huge paragraph and a personal accounting so TLR
Guys at Vroom car rentals put on a really awesome tournament their was free food/drink, Good casting and everyone their was super friendly plus for a first event it was super well organised. And even little stuff like this is helping the SEA e-sport community grow and get more people involved

Anyway the venue itself was really awesome i went their with two mates and we were some of the first too rock up their was a bit of trouble with the sign ups but that was too no fault of the guys running the tournament. Their was 8 PC's set up all really nice and a room out back with a huge TV were the you could watch the games so that aspect of the tournament was perfect towards the end when everyone showed up it was a bit crowed but not to the point were it was a major issue. The tournament itself was a BO1 double elimination up until the finals which were BO3. The event itself started a bit late but everyone was busy setting up,chatting practicing so it wasn't too much of an issue when it did begin everything was handled well and once things started they got underway fast and i got too play one of the first matches against one of the organises a I think, He put up a good fight but i manged to win the match. The best part was after you finished your match you could sit down and watch someone else's with some really excellent casting. After the first round was done and dusted the next round of matches began first the winners bracket than the loser's. I was lucky enough to get pitted EVEsgins before the match i got some excellent advice from my good friends and TCPnumlocked which went along the lines of that guys a total beast your fucked so with spirits high i went into that match and lost but im proud that i put up a good fight and went down swinging. Unfortunately i only got to watch a few more games after that before my two friends decided they didn't want too stick around it was a real shame and i was pretty pissed so i missed out on the quarters and semi's worst part i didn't even find out who won but none of that really matters what matters is that this was a really cool initiative and even little things like this are helping the E-sports community in the SEA region grow so good on the guys at Vroom rental and everyone who showed up it was a really fun day and i hope their are more events like this to come.

just split up the paragraph into smaller chunks, 2, 3 sentences per paragraph and people won't be too bothered about it.

These guys were really really chilled awesome people, they even cooked us a snag for lunch. Sweet set up and it ran super smooth for their first event and only have 8 computers to play on. Nice meeting them and some new faces. If they decide to put together another one brissy people should definitely come.

I am really disappointed I missed this - I honestly thought it was tomorrow.

I'm very sorry for not getting along to support this, but it's great to see some local businesses getting behind eSports like this. It seemed like they intend to do more, and I am excited by this idea.

So VroomVroomVroom are a rental car comparison site - kind of like WotIf are for hotels, WebJet are for airline tickets, etc, which could come in pretty handy, especially around ACL time!

Long story short it was brilliant tournament and great fun. Vroomvroomvroom did a great job and meeting everyone was fantastic. Results were:

1. Myself
2. Wettowel
3. mGGAlpha
4. Forbz
5/6. Signs and zenmaster

Thats all I remember. I'll repost tomorrow when I rewrite my previous post.

Yeah, I assume your alpha right, Ali? I recognized your face somewhere but not the in game name so that was a bit confusing.

So basically I turned up at this event with my friends Arkrobin, numlocked and nanowarp. We arrived at around 10ish and while we waited in the overcrowded entry, wettowel greeted me with, "hey man you gonna win?" laughing I tell him there's no chance. We sign up and head inside meeting forbz, xormenter and domo. The rest of the ivn crew turned up in doves and odds. Then the legendary evesigns arrived and so did my buddy quicksabre. Signs talked with cynix and 6 pooled an ai which was actually hilariously stupid.

The tournament started on time at 11 with Richard (the organizer from vroom) checking the signups and calling out the round 1 matches. I had my friend Arkrobin in the first round and hold his failed early pool with spines and two evos to wall (daybreak).

Next round was me vs doves where he had mouse troubles and I killed him with early speedlings. I checked next round and signs was my opponent. In the downtime we all watched the games on the big TV in the adjacent room with some excellent casting from duckville. In the meantime I met minimat and a couple other guys.

About an hour and a half after checking the bracket the losers bracket caught up and I played signs. Game 1 I did a safe 15 hatch and under the pressure played way too defensive and fell way behind in Econ. Signs closed it out with some good macro and decision making. My friends ran in to give me some support before they returned to watch the casting. Game 2 I picked antiga and opened 10 pool speed. Against his 15 hatch I came out ahead with signs mismicroing and us having some lag spikes. I rallied ling and won the game. Signs then picked shakuras which ended in this back and forth game with me building up a roach hydra infestor army and signs massing mutas. Neither of us managed to secure a third thanks to constant runbys and muta harass. Eventually I moved out and with good fungals killed his muta bane force and defended his ling counter with rallied units. Signs ggd out and I got up elated as everyone cane in congratulating me. I then went over and shook signs hand and reported my match results.

There was a massive downtime before my next match(all my games zvz so far) and so a bunch of us tried our hand at casting and everyone enjoyed the chips and sausages vroom provided. I talked some with signs and minimat about how were gonna win state of origin without dropping a game and more trashtalk stuff.

Around 5ish I played my semi against alpha who'd been demolishing players left and right with his immortal zealot drop with dt warp in into immortal sentry with leftover archons. Defending his cannon rush by expanding to my 3rd and 4th instead of my nat he continues to do his strategy. I was prepared though and had overseers at every base and roach ling ready to intercept drops. Crushing his harass and immortal followup I transition into roach drops and take the game. Game 2 on shakuras I choose to open 3 base muta to counter his strategy, unfortunately he decides to open 2 stargate which I scout as my spire is halfway complete. I throw down my eve and hope he waits for more voids before attacking. He moves out before my spire completes and takes down my third and like 10 overlords. My mutas pop and catch all the voidrays while they retreat. I end up getting way too many bases and win in a basetrade. I shake alphas hand and head into the other room to watch more games.

The winners final was me vs wettowel. I manage to win game 1 despite some very poor play from me. I then take game 2 on cloud kingdom with roach drops against his mech and then kill him with roach bane in the final game. Guaranteed top 2 wooooooooooo. Alpha then beat forbz and went on to face signs (who just ended zenmasters magical run). Arkrobin, quicksands and I drove off to buy some dinner and arrive at the shopping centre. Unfortunately someone forgot to bring their money so we drove back empty handed.

Signs vs alpha game 2 was maybe 8 mins in when we got back and alpha was up to his same shenanigans. Again it worked and he won game 2, tying the series. signs picked metropolis and alpha went for a sentry immortal all in. Signs went spire and got mutas out, saccing his third in the process. He then proceeded to engage with his muta ling force against constant stalker warp ins (after killing the sentry immortal force. Realizing he can't fight he retreats to his nat as alpha again pushes in. Signs tries to defend without using his 8 spines and loses the game despite all of us calling it in his favor.

Wettowel vs alpha ended in a pretty quick 3-0 with alpha again impressing me with his strategies and tactics although not quite keeping up in mechanics. Wettowel vs myself was the final which ended 3-0 in my favor netting me the win.

Richard handed out the prizes with duckville getting stuff, forbz getting signs prize cause he had already left, alpha getting a ton of merchandise, wettowel getting merchandise and 50 bucks and me getting 100 bucks, merchandise and a sick starcraft 2 vroom champion trophy that lights up.

Big thanks to vroomvroomvroom for hosting the event and letting us all have a great day! Nice to meet everyone! Oh and big shoutout to xormenter for bringing his pc for the tournament to use!

DUCKVILLELOL, he has a youtube I dont know what it is but ive watched a lot of his videos before. I casted a little alongside wettowel and Odds. Odds casted with Duckville for the latter end of the tournament and it was very enjoyable. Ping was excellent too! vroomvroomvroom fighting!

hesres the video in the blog now, I am the guy in the hoodie at the comp who stretches his hands up right as they come through. Then the vroom fighting shout was also me. alpha was sitting across the room from me (we were about to play I think although the game on the big screen looked suspiciously like me vs alpha game 2 so maybe I randomly stretch halfway through games...).
