Newcomers to the state series ACT will have their work cut out for them against last season's champions Queensland. Boasting several attractive ace options and lead by the experienced SenSei, Queensland challenge NSW for the title of season favourite. Meanwhile, ACT's lack of depth means that despite fielding the more than capable YoonYJ, they may struggle to field all-grandmaster lineups each week. If the ACT are to make a statement in this tournament this will be their best chance, as QLD may opt to field a partially weakened team to preserve their strongest lineups for the must-win later matches.

Kicking off the season with the second biggest rivalry in Australian sport, the Victorians take on tournament favourites NSW. Both teams have very strong zerg and terran options but this could mean NSW's star protoss Light could tip the balance in their favour. Losing pinder to retirement was a big blow for VIC but again if NSW opt for a weaker lineup to ensure a strong finish to the season VIC are in with a big chance here.

In this battle of the west we see two states who were once teammates in the previous incarnation of SoO. Under the title "SAWA" this team took a few shock wins in the Brood War tournament and with players like EdgE and yang spearheading these teams either of them could impress again this season. With WA losing AsGCHoBo their roster looks a little less intimidating, but with a lot of up-and-coming or underrated Master and GM players in both sides this one is likely to come down to an ace match!

Yeah SoO is only Bo1 so there will probably be time to fit it in, no need to rush anything. There's bound to be a bit of down time where they can crank out a Bo1 and they can be a little delayed if necessary.

Pretty lenient on subs, especially for week one. After week one it will prob be restricted to same-race subs only seeing the matchups will be released earlier and people will have time to prepare.
