Seems like they had trouble making ends meet. Their sponsor E-Sports Holdings had dropped sponsorship and all the player contracts were cancelled on May 11th.

Old Generations was one of the big teams in Korea, they had many famous players like MC, NaDa, Zenio, Fruitdealer, Supernova and Hero. The disbandment is quite significant to the Starcraft 2 scene and also to the Team Liquid players who were training with in the oGs house.

Well it's a shame to see the arguable best team in the early days of Starcraft2 now being disbanded. They were my favorite team and the recent lose of MC, Nada and Supernova made me feel that the team isn't quite the same anymore, and now they're disbanded D:

This news is almost a week old, and it's also still just a rumour (although it appears very likely at this point)

AFAIK the naver article is the confirmation, previous to that article it was a rumour.

This isn't a week old.. the Naver article was published on the 15th. But what i find interesting is, where is all the TL players gonna go?

I thought the team was going to reform under a new name? And the other teams have agreed to not hire the players for a while till things settle down.

Such a shame. On the plus side, remaining players can move to better teams i.e. foreign teams which will actually pay their flights and possibly give them salary. When one esports door closes 10 more open ^^
