For anyone who's interested, here it is. It's a lot harder than it looks (sounds?) so I always appreciate constructive feedback. I am currently a platinum Protoss but I'm working on getting to diamond so that I am a more qualified commentator.
[Z] TtPiG Vs. [Z] TellMeImGood
PS. I can also play Zerg and Terran at a gold level on the NA servers.
PPS. The replay was taken from the "latest uploaded" window on sc2sea earlier today (here).
You are good. I think there's some sort of subliminal message going on here...
Lol, jokes aside, prolly can smoothen out your pauses, but I guess that will come with practice. keep it up!
Coming from experience myself having only recently started taking casting somewhat seriously.. within 5 or so casts you will feel a lot more confident in being able to generate yourself for an entire game.
For myself personally I am at a point where it is about learning match ups and game knowledge. Soon you will be at that point too. I have learned a lot of game knowledge in casting alone but if you want to try to improve quickly I suggest reading up on timings and what to look out for so you can nail those predictions.
It's a pretty nice feeling when you say "X is likely going to happen" and it does
You have a great casting voice, and I think you can certainly get a lot better in no time!
Yea as above mentioned, you remind me TotalBiscuit as well. But one thing is, if you're casting slow and articulate, you have to be reallly really careful with what you say as you aren't rambling a lot of words at once and people are clearly hearing what you say word by word! Also I think even when you're trying to be calm so you don't say the wrong things, it's always good to have a huge rush of adrenaline in fights and put in a lot of emotion in your voice, viewers love it when you do that!
I think you'll find casting and playing go hand in hand. I started casting when I was gold league, and I had the opportunity to cover so many games that my game knowledge increased rapidly. By the time I got a chance to sit down and ladder, I went from gold to diamond in a matter of 3 weeks.
So, if you keep playing and casting consistently you'll improve so quickly you won't even realise it, Your commentary will come more naturally to you and your game knowledge will weave itself in a lot more easily also. Keep doing what you're doing! (; Good luck.
Awesome work dude. I really enjoyed this cast of yours. Keep it up. Let us know when you do more, I'd definately be keen to see more (especially more P!).
Ya, most definitely worth trying. Just want to say now don't hope to succeed on youtube as it's not possible with so many sc2 casters there already. If you want to consider casting as more than a hobby, you need to get onto some livestreams, although youtube is good for establishing the basic skills.
