I can release an app of Sc2Sea Twitter account and facebook page. All i want is Diablo III beta key and Dota II invite.

App can be used in iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Mobile phones. Here is a screenshot of draft app:

Edit: Some of the fellows from forum added bad reputation to my profile. Sorry to inform you that I put an effort to do this job and all i want i just a copule of invites which does not require any effort. For I really want to play these games, I think my request is not unfair.
@minimat It is an app directly related with Sc2sea. Twitter and facebook updates are given in the same app.

I can also add other sections such as RSS news, forum post if there is ant rss link, "about me" section etc...

You do realise that nirvana isn't employed by Blizzard and doesn't just have keys to give out to someone who made an sc2sea fb and twitter app, the sc2sea twitter and fb doesn't even get updated regularly enough to warrant an app. And it's the way you asked for them that annoyed me and you are also a new member of the community.

You can not find a word indicating that I am asking them from nirvana in my previous post. I am asking them from beloved community members.

I appreciate the work that nirvana had done. He is also runnıng this community by the help of donations, or the products team sell (t-shirts, software etc...). I also have expenditures such as software delevopment certificates for markets etc... I am not asking for money or anything tangible. I think you are acting emotional. I hope you agree with me after reading this post .

Considering this is a thread where the idea of an sc2sea app was being proposed and was looking for feedback, having you come in here and demand beta keys makes you come off like a bit of a twat. By bit, I mean a lot.

If the FB and Twitter pages of SC2SEA were more active, it could be useful. I really would like to play these games. You can not blame me for asking for them. I know that there a re a lot of people having invites and beta keys for spare. I got your point. That is what you are thinking and this is what i am looking for .

Clearly a Diablo 3 beta key would be considered tangible...

One cannot simply walk into Mordor and find a beta key for one of the most hyped and anticipated games of the last 2 years. As Stinger says, you must EARN something like that.

Sure, I believe that you in creating your app is indeed worthy of some kind of repayment. However, as I understand it, you came here offering to make this application for us, the community, for free then decided to let everybody know "UH HOLD UP GAIZ, can I haz beta key plox? ". (Forgive me for paraphrasing).

You have no right to demand the leaders of this community for anything, if they had sought you out specifically for this task then SURE it would be ok. However even if that was the case, a beta key is a hard thing to get a hold of, they are not given out willy nilly.

Basically, great idea, your heart is in the right place, but please refrain from such a childish and demanding tone. Realize you are asking (rather obscurely) a strong bound community for very rare and awesome items (D3 beta and DOTA2 invite). Sc2sea isn't built upon a favour being done, then subsequently asking for reimbursement for that said favour (that by definition stops it from being a favour).

Sc2sea is built upon respect, reputation, activity, clarity and understanding.

Oh, and also avoid contradicting yourself, that tends to annoy people :S

These were the conditions made and agreed upon. No, Diablo 3 Keys may not cost money, but to get them you have to earn them the way everyone else does. YOU come here and offer to make us something. We do not owe you anything in return apart from gratitude.

And from what I see, the app is not one worth downloading in the first place. Our phones have the capability to get on twitter or facebook without your app, although your app would make it a tad bit easier.

I got community spirit pouring out of every orifice, and it is for this reason that I don't like new sc2sea features being held ransom.

All the work on this site is done by members who want nothing other than to better the site. These community building members put time, energy and money into the end goal of promoting our scene and making life better for the other members. Sometimes they get a pat on the back, some people don't give a shit, but they certainly don't do it expecting any personal reward other than the satisfaction that they've made this a better place.

Like nirvAnA says, rethink your attitude regarding this app. You're going about it wrong. From what I can gather it's just a social network feed app. If you want to actually help us, we'll work with you to make it better. If you just want keys for stuff, you can keep your app. I personally will still sleep at night.

Moved the thread so as not to confuse people with antelopes idea, which was an app for the SC2SEA site which is going to be free (and he expects nothing in return). deadsouls idea here is for a twitter / fb app.

My thoughts are:

Your Op: deadsoul its the way you came across demanding it that annoyed most people. this is because in this community, people with the skills help one another without conditions. look at the graphics threads, the IT tech threads, the buy a computer threads etc. This is the community spirit we have and your post kinda went against the culture we have here.

And just so you know, veteris was given a d3 key way before he updated the streamer app or replay DB. We simply remembered the past work he did for us and were thankful so when he casually asked us if we still had any keys left we were more than happy to give him one. All mods / seal admins, writers who did not have it were given one as well. The point i'm getting at is we recognize the people who have helped us and will give back to them what we can but to out right demand something is not the way to go. The stuff we give back should always be thought of as "bonuses" and not necessities. In your heart you should be first wanting to help the community, if you're here to get something out of in you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

Feature wise: like people have mentioned, the FB/twitter feed is not updated enough to warrant an APP. imo you should have first PMed me about this and we could have had a proper discussion about it, as SC2SEA definitely would benefit from having some sort of app, for example a chatboxx app. That being said, I hope you do change your approach and mindset for e.g finding out exactly what the community would like before making it (like the chatbox app) and then releasing it without any conditions because you want to help the community.

If that happens I'm sure we will will turn around and be appreciative of your work and you may or may not receive beta keys in the future. D3 is nearing release so there aren't going to be any more left keys for that but we will probably be doing HOTS beta keys sometime in the future.

I just saw this thread.

From the moment I read DeadSoul's post I was a bit offput by the wording. However I realised he clearly wasn't a native english speaker. If he asked a bit nicer I think it would have been digested much better and whilst some people may have still had a problem with you "holding hostage" the app until you got something for it the conversation would have been alot nicer.

Deadsoul, if you really want something in return for work you should probably ask ahead of time if anyone can reward you with them. Also you should check if there is a large want for the App. If this isn't the case you do come off as very demanding. I don't know how readily available these keys are and I think you may be misguided in assuming people just have stacks of them lying around.

Posters and reppers: Try to go easier on those who clearly don't speak English as a first language, I didn't see a single person that posted or repped have any empathy with the obvious communication difficulties Deadsoul was having. That being said the way Deadsoul went about asking for reward was a little out of custom.
