This video was set in 2005 from the WCG USA finals and features a young (and handsome) Day9, a normal voice sounding and purple haired Tasteless and Artosis... who is well, not very different from the Artosis that we all love today!
I got this from Sharn Kemp's TL blog yes THE Sharn Kemp who sponsors SEAL! and thought it was worth a re-post for those who have not seen it!! Quite a nice blast from the past. Makes you wonder what you are going to be doing with you life 7 years from now!
"I got to around the 50 minute mark and he started talking about how Artosis was just beaming as he played the game vs him and I felt my eyes start to water and I had no idea what was happening. I'm a guy that's seen close friends and family members die without shedding a single tear but here I am just listening about Artosis being happy and I'm about to cry.
This isn't the only time that Artosis has done this to me either. In the video of the 2005 WCG USA, in that section where Artosis had just lost to day9 and he talks about quitting his job again just to practise for the WCG, even just watching him try to keep himself together...it had me in tears. Why does Artosis do this to me?
After a few days of thinking about this I realised why it happened. When I saw that WCG video, I saw a guy who was willing to give up anything for something he loved. I admired that so much that it brought me to tears. I have so much respect for someone that can do that because I know I can't. I let my fear of failure hold me back and it's something that I'm not sure I can ever outgrow. Artosis however loves the game so much that despite his losses he was still willing to do the same thing the next year and the year after and i'm sure he would've for another 50 years if he hadn't moved to Korea.
And that is why Artosis is the only person that can make me cry." - JoFritzMD
Yeah I really loved this video when I found it on Youtube! You're right about Artosis too, he hasn't changed in like 7 years.
Also, with Day9's very popular Daily #100 My Life of Starcraft he actually recounts this event and it's so great to be able to see it in video form. Although I started playing Starcraft when Starcraft 2 was released I can still relate to this video and it feels great.

Were u competing for singapore in that WCG nirv? It was held in Singapore too! I think I remember that
This just got me thinking, it'd actually really suck to qualify for WCG finals and have it hosted in your own country, you'd almost feel cheated out of a free trip :P.

Jeez, I can't believe you haven't watched it yet Nirvana! It's literally the most wonderful thing on Youtube. I've watched it like 4 times and it's still .
Cool video. Whilst I have played starcraft on and off ever since it came out I never followed the esports scene until SC2 came out so was great to see this
