It's obvious that those hacks over at teamliquid don't give a stuff about the SEA scene, so I thought it was worth revisiting their IEM Kiev preview with the focus on our very own SEA Viking, TargA. He does have a tough group featuring the likes of MMA, but TargA doesn't afraid of anything and may even be favoured against the two Protoss players in his group. I'd give him reasonable odds on making it to the playoff stages. An interesting piece of trivia is that TargA was actually 9th seed for the event as yang iaguz, PiG, EnDerr, pokerface, MaFia, tgun and mOOnGLaDe all declined the position.

Despite the Norwegian flag, TargA will be the official and only representative for the SEA server at this IEM challenge. His Australian study VISA makes him elegible to represent SEA. Known for his trolling and unconventional playstyle in SEA he is fast becoming known in the EU scene as he takes not only the 1v1 ladder by storm, but the 4v4 ladder with an impressive undefeated record alongside fellow Viking, Oystein!
Fig 2. Artists' impression of TargA
Current form:
While TargA hasn't had any standout tournament results in his "native" SEA, he has shown that he can compete internationally. In addition to his recent strong showing in SEACL #2, he was also the hero in the SEA Dream Team taking down MakaPrime in a ClanWar with eSahara, qualified for NASL S3, and achieving top20 (I think a high rank of #16) on the European ladder. With this form I don't see TargA being a pushover even for the likes of MMA if the nerves don't get to him and he plays to his potential.
Opposition:
Fortunately, TargA shares a group with predominantly European opponents. Being a Viking he is already used to pillaging and destroying his fellow Europeans and this shows with his high placing on the EU ladder, especially in 4v4. Pomi and HasuObs are no pushovers but they are not stellar by any standards and TargA certainly has a very good chance if his vP matchup is up to scratch. His main opponent will be SlayerS' MMA. I think TargA will go in confident despite this monumental task ahead of him and when at ease his practice should pay off and he will certainly put up a fight.
In honour of the great Viking of the South, I will close this preview article with his favourite song, which sums him up as a person with almost supernatural accuracy.
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Results:
Targa 0 - Pomi 2 : This one hurt. Pomi is very strong but Targa can beat him.
Targa 2 - HasuObs 0 : Hasu who ?
Targa 1 - MMA 2 : Took a game to MMA, not everyone can do it
He should have won game 2 vs MMA too but I guess this is a pretty major LAN event and every experience counts so he can play to his potential without nerves next time
