I doubt anyone else will be going. As awesome as it would be, SG players aren't up to standards yet IMO and the top players know it. We can definitely compete if our top players could train full time, but IIRC that isn't the case. Right now chance of qualifying are next to none and that's definitely not worth the plane ticket, unless you're going on holiday there too lol
i think the only person who has a realisitc chance qualifying for GSL is moonglade
everyone else either doesnt play that much to get good or does but isnt talented enough
moonglade = lots of hard work + lots of talent which is like ultimate combo
Not to mention dashing good looks!
BTW GLaDe will be in Japan while GSL is on most likely, otherwise he may have been competing or so I heard. Leg will be in Korea in December.
I think you are underestimating some SEA players - they rig the qualifier brackets for foreigners and with the right bracket I am sure a dozen or so players would have a chance at the top64!

Couldn't agree more with this. Really hoping glade makes the trip over tho
edit: actually i think a few of us could have more than a 'realistic' chance of qualifying, i mean, there are some seriously horrible players in the Ro64 and even Ro32 from what I've seen, but it'd all depend on brackets etc. But Glade's the only person that I think could have a decent shot at a placing worth traveling over for.

But then again, you get people who are extremely good like tester who didn't even qualify.

I agree with nirvAnA on that count that glade's probably the best chap in SEA to head to GSL, i believe glade also mentioned that his sponsors are trying to send him there so we're here cheering him on. I'm cheering him on as a fan along with many others! /o/
But I'm sure others will be cheering him on to go to GSL so they have a chance to win 25 bucks on sunday, lol.
Anyhow, there's already a huge gulf in difference between the Korean scene and the US/European scene for sc2, I mean the caucasians/TLers in Korea just aren't doing well at all. Maybe we'll have to wait for Huk next season to see if his Protoss can make any headway in Korea.
And then there's a gulf in difference between our top 200 in ladder and the US top 200. No offence to our top 200, I'm sure we've got some rock solid players who would make the top 200 in NA but it'll be much harder because the NA/European/Korean scene have a much livelier pro-gaming scene in SEA, and as for Singaporean pro-gamers, ours is next to non-existent.
And with ice enlisting in the army soon, and nirvAnA being married and all, and basically the rest of the Singaporeans playing after hours and not for a job, its like sending the Vanuatu football team which comprises of weekend warriors, teachers and plumbers to Brazil to play their national team. So yeah, I don't wanna quench someone's dream to go to Korea and make a name for himself, because honestly there's nothing I'd like better than to see a Singaporean right up there at the world stage laying the smackdown on the likes of TLO or Idra or NEXGenius or any progamers, but as a country, we're just way far behind at the moment.
