This is more of a late game focussed question. Played zerg for quite a while and thought it was really fun. the one thing that I miss since transferring over to terran is that it seems to lack a killer blow. With zerg, just choose ultra or broodlords and they are quite dependable in going for the win. Terran i can't seem to find one. Would people say that the terran style is more that you'll have the slow pushes and starve the opponent rather than walk through them?
Probably also a better question, what are some typical finishing moves do ppl have? I'm currently getting more success with dropping with 3:3 bio.
Terran doesn't really have that big final unit to push for the win, the idea for a good terran to win a match is to control the mid-game work down your opponent until there is nothing left then you win.
Through the art of Drops and pokes at undefended bases / out of postion arms and such, you can pretty much strangle your opponent and have then in the palm of your hand.
Keeping up upgrades throughout the match, outmacroing your opponent, all these little things snowball up the later the game goes. Assuming you have been controlling the match
While playing Terran is my main race, I certainly found it hard to come to grips with this... and the answer is that we don't have one. You must deny Zergs third. Constantly harassing the player, abuse cliffs, anything to make your position stronger. Dont just build up to 200/200, because you will loose.
yeah in the rare event that your bunker rush doesn't work you then proceed to banshees and if that doesn't work just turtle hard off 2 base until max and A-move for the win hahaha
But in all seriousness your killing blow units are the same units you build early in the game, marines.
Use drops and take advantage of the zerg when he makes a mistake but yeah being impatient will spell doom for you.
The longer the game goes the harder it is for terran
Zerg is super ridiculously weak early game and any ways you take advantage of that will help later. Any units he makes means less econ later on which helps you.
Drops are awesome too
Yeah figured that was the case...unfortunately I can be a pretty impatient person...slowly hitting and then gaining maintaining control, etc might not be completely my style! I think that plus my OARSOME 40 APM, doesn't really allow me to micro drops, tanks, stims, etc while macroing.
Might have to go back to the swarm...the call is alluring :P
