The first semi of the night was a captivating game. The map was Tal’darim Altar LE, FaDeKai spawned bottom left and Poile bottom right. Glhfs all-round and the match begun.
FaDeKai began with 3 barracks before taking his natural. Using his marauders and marines from what may come out of that fog of war. Poile began with three gate robo and expanded not long after FaDeKai with Stalkers to protect his base. From there FaDeKai build a Starport for medivacs and the drops begun. FaDeKai used his medivacs to drop from every angle possible, making Poile’s main force run pointlessly around trying to kill units that had already disappeared.
FaDeKai tried to drop on Poile’s natural by it was only occupied by one probe but simply picked up his units and tried the main Using these drops, FaDeKai dwindled the economy of Poile, rendering his army small enough to attack head on. Forcefields kept FaDeKai at bay but in the end he walked away with the first game.
FaDeKai (T) v Poile (P)
The second game was a short one but not without some good display of skill. Xel’Naga Caverns is the battle ground with FaDeKai up top and Poile down below.
Poile opens again with a 3 gate robo. FaDeKai builds three barracks and no gas but escapes being scouted by blocking the probe with an SCV. It doesn’t take long for FaDeKai to pump out 10 marines and pulls all but 2 SCVs along for the ride.
“’This is your plan?’ A good SCV never questions his general”
Arriving at Poile’s base FaDeKai caught Poile by surprise. Keeping his SCVs up front to bear the fire from the one stalker FaDeKai kept most of his marines alive. Poile pulled all of his probes but some spectacular kiting kept most probe hits at bay. In the end Poile gg’d and FaDeKai walked away with the second game and a ticket to the finals in under eight minutes.
