The International returns once again this summer to Seattle with a five day Main Event, starting on August 7th.



The first team invited to The International are the returning champions, Invictus Gaming. Twelve more teams will be announced over the coming days. Just like in last year’s event, the winners of the East and West Qualifiers will each receive an invite. As you’ve probably noticed, that only adds to 15 teams. Right before The International begins, the Wild Card event will determine the final spot in a match between the runner-ups of each qualifier.

The West Qualifier will be hosted by GDStudio from May 13th through the 19th and the East Qualifier by BeyondTheSummit from May 20th through the 26th. All matches will also be available for free through DotaTV.

We have all the invited teams below.

Edit: TongFu has been given an invite in place of LGD.cn. This is due to the sudden roster change that happened. To me, this seems to suggest that the invites are not for the team per se, but for the individuals in the team. Kinda weird if you ask me. But it is at their discretion after all. LGD.cn takes TongFu's spot in the qualifiers.

Pretty clear that one of the invites will be na'vi. You don't win the International 1 and come 2nd in the International 2 to not be invited to the International 3

Prolly MUFC for East or EG for West for the 13th Invite? Wild Card would be hashed out between the 2nd place for East and West Qualifiers?

I just bought the Compendium. Pretty neat, next level interaction with fans!

The prize pool increases by $2.50 for even International Compendium purchased. There are 3 stretch goals (if you are familiar with Kickstarters, they work the same way). For each stretch goal achieved, compendium owners get something special.

There's also a All-star match where you, the fans, get to vote for 2 all-star teams, and they would face off against each other!

Not to mention the player/team profiles as well as your own predictions which are all incorporated into Compendium UI.
