So for the past 4 months I've been using X-split with no issues at all. I'm from Australia, and the internet isn't the greatest here, but I've been able to stream with decent settings for quite some time. That was, until about 3 days ago, where all of a sudden I experienced large frame drops on stream whilst playing starcraft 2. I'm really not sure how to go about this.

My PC specs are as follows:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Gigabyte X79-UD5 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-3930k @3.20GHz - 6 cores
16GB RAM
Radeon HD7970GFX Card.

As I said, this lack of upload speed only occurs when I'm trying to stream. When I attempt speedtests, all results are regular! I tried using other streaming software to no avail. The same problems occur. I have run antivirus checks, checked through firewalls and tried to research on the internet, but I couldn't find much. If anyone needs more information to help me out, please ask! I will be here daily as I have been trying to get into the business of streaming games professionally and need to fix this problem ASAP!

EDIT: PC has not been overheating at all while streaming. Also, I had not changed any xsplit settings until after I had been having troubles for several days.

All xsplit bandwidth testing servers are equally poor with regards to upload speeds. My internet is not capped, in fact only 3%has been used.

I have also just tried using TCPRelay, which did not help to improve my upload speeds while streaming. Perhaps this is a twitch based problem? This has never occurred before so I'm not sure why it's happening now. I have contacted my ISP - Telstra. The connection to my modem was reset both on their end and on mine. This has not fixed my problem and upload speeds whilst streaming to twitch are still reduced significantly.

Have you contacted Twitch? I'd think it very likely that it is an issue on their end if you've taken all those steps to check your end.

Im not very good with technical stuff, but OBS is much better than xsplit. idk how it works but you can stream at higher quality with OBS with the same net as you would with xslpit

Twitch has been dodgy during the big LoL riot stream thingy probably cause they getting well over 100k viewers stressing servers?
That or your computer, or one one your network, is using more bandwidth than it should

I sent them a message via twitter, waiting for a response now. In all honesty, OBS has never made a difference for me either way. I've been able to stream the same if not better qualitywith xsplit.

Just tried a completely different ethernet cable - still no difference. Also tried streaming to ustream.com with no difference also. Turned off norton antivirus and any other programs which could be firewalling etc.. still no difference.. I'm completely stumped guys, but if anyone has an idea, I'll try it.

Give it a day or two, sometimes traffic seems to surge on any given internet connection, or it might just be some sort of temporary anomaly on your line.
Apart from that all I can advise is to reset your router (turn off for 30 seconds then back on) to see if the current connection is just being wonky. If it does continue I'd suggest contacting your ISP, there might be a problem with your physical line.
Perhaps some network wizards can offer some more technical advice? Otherwise yeah try giving it some time, and good luck, I too know the pain of a completely unstable internet connection

Yeah I actually contacted the ISP today, they reset both ends of the line even though there was no issue from their end, which makes me think its something entirely different. It's been about 3 or 4 days now, I thought it would have cleared up already, which is why im starting to post around and spent all day messing around with settings and connections and stuff. Hopefully someone like paperclip will come on and instasolve the problem!

Try streaming using the xsplit delay server, even if it is just a 10 second delay.

It is much easier streaming to the delay server, and then it sends it through to twitch, and I can consistently stream in higher quality using the delay server than without.

Its a setting in xsplit for people who don't have partner on twitch. You need to have a premium license I think.

Basically it just sits in the middle, you stream to it instead of twitch, it holds the data and sends it to twitch after a certain delay that you can set. We use it to give our casts a 3 minute delay when we cast CoD so that people can't ghost using the stream.

I am positive that it is easier for me (in Brisbane) to stream to the delay server instead of straight to twitch. I can stream in significantly higher quality when I use it. I don't know the science, but it works. I can only assume that the location of the xplit delay server (or the routing to it) is better of us in Aus than streaming to twitch Singapore (which is unreliable) or the twitch server on west coast USA.
