Start a game and have BO3? and more importantly fun.
Any plans for a format change before the next event? Will it still be Bo1 / Single Elim for the most part? Will there still be no seeding? Will you be sticking with the same co-caster?
I didn't catch any of the event due to work & weather, but just raising some of the things I saw a lot of noise about.
Does anyone have a link to the brackets? My internet was in the toilet last night so I wasn't able to watch the stream and I was having trouble finding them.

Format will be the same, however we will be seeding based on the IeSF rankings.
I wasn't able to have stream chat open with our current setup and thus I wasn't getting direct feedback from last night. I actually would really love some feedback, obviously I'd like to improve the event.
The format with Bo1 for the first few rounds may seem harsh, but it's mainly a time factor, we want to keep the event down to the 4-5 hour mark.

Some sort of bracket seeding. A quick, objective top 8 or so then randomised would have helped a lot. Problem is now - the guys that vs'd other top talent in a Bo1 Round 1 have hardly any points. Also, the barrier to entry is - if I sign up, after missing the first qualifier - I have a good chance of vsing the top 4 in the first round - I understand that is just my bad for not signing up or whom ever might be put off by the likely bracket they will get. But it's an awkward system (giving everyone that signs up points, so new players always vs top players - based on a points seeding system, Unless you only seed the top 8 or so...?).
Co-caster, he wasn't too bad - but I can tell his game knowledge is limited. Perhaps have him run more play-by-play and you can analyse a bit more... idk.
Anyway, was an exciting competition. Best of luck with the rest (how many are there?)

I mean to bring this criticism as constructively as possible without being too harsh
If the event is gonna be kept to the 4-5 hour mark, then can I suggest that you cast alone? Would love this event to be as good as it can be as well, and I think your co-caster really let you down with a complete lack of game knowledge, monotone, and pretty much just repeating everything you said.
Disclaimer; I will admit I only watched the last couple hours and am only running on the assumption that it was the same quality during the whole broadcast.

Definitely think some rough seeding would be appreciated by all. Doesn't have to be perfect but getting someone who has good knowledge of player skill of the sea community or just putting the big names at a fair distance so we aren't knocking each other out round 1 which kinda sux. Kind of like big names meeting each other in the first bo3 would be really cool imo.
Plus i think most people get a lot less lag to NA these days than SEA, SEA seems fucked up for god knows why but yeah, i used to get the sickest ping and now it feels like europe.
Chad, there will be at least 8 qualifiers, and for seeding, we won't seed every player, just top 8 or 16, so a new player isn't 100% going to hit the people at the top of the ladder.

The regions seeding is established at this point, and bar a few small rearrangements here & there I don't see it changing going into HotS. With Bo1 single elim i have the feeling you won't get an accurate seeding, even after the 8 weeks.
I'm not sure who your co-caster was, but you could definitely tell he had very limited knowledge of the game. There was probably some nerves in there, but it was really awkward & even difficult to listen to at times.
Don't be afraid to throw up your between game overlay if nothing is going on!
