My in game ID is RegiuS and I am here to make an apology for my
selfish actions of smurfing during GPD #62. I have regreted my
actions since the event and I want to make things right. I
apologise to sRLiveR for robbing him of a GPD victory, and to the
sea community for deceiving you. My in Game name is HgZRegiuS, but
you might know me from the smurf account I used, 'InFinitY'. I am
actually an ex-Grandmasters/Masters Zerg player.
I am sorry that this apology was not made earlier, but after the
incident in question I wasn't really active on SEA. I have learnt
that smurfing is not something that is good or worth doing and I
am willing to accept any repurcussions and consequences for the
smurfing that I did. I am not proud for what I did nor do I think
it is correct. So I just want to make things right.
I wish to start new and be given a second chance to both be a part
of the sc2sea community and contribute to it.I assure you that
none of my past actions will be repeated, and I regret giving
everyone a negative impression of me. I hope to be an active part
of the SEA community, not someone who wants to just troll or be of
nuisance.
Again, I am deeply sorry to the people who have been hurt by my
actions. Thank you for taking the time to read my apology.
Lets not point the fingers and jump up and down on this guy. The apology has come out of the blue afaik and seems legit. But as GooSe said, you get busted or is this something that you've done on your fruition? If the later, then it seems the guilt is enough and Regius would seem remorseful, I don't think punishment or hatred is deserved in that situation. If you got busted and then wrote this - then punish as standard for smurfing, There has been enough instances for a precedent to formulate the correct punishment..
I am not seeing any posts saying that he was busted first, and he wrote a clean apology regarding his smurfing activities. So I think all is well regarding your apology until further light can be shed upon this incident.

Earlygame ZvZ is basically a knifefight with suicide bombers.
Yes certainly, it's quite rare to find someone who does the right thing without being forced to do so. Would definetley support a more lenient punishment in that case.
I wasn't 'busted' for it nor did i receive the prize money, i just want to make amends and be part of the sea community again as i am now more active on SEA then i was before, after the incident i didnt really play on SEA much at all.
In that case good on you for coming foward. I still think some level of punishment should be there, but vary lenient indeed. Maybe just a 1 month ban or something. Up to the admins to decide.
But as I said, respect you came forward after it.

He actually was busted for it. I remember because I was there.
Wait a second..
Infinity, Melbourne zerg.. your not Random are you?.. If thats you. you've smurfed more times than I can remember and should be perma banned from tournaments.
When you said you didn't receive prize money it made me scratch my head about why not - that post from Eddie sums it up.
Good to see he was on the ball with this and knew about it ages ago.
I guess you know the punishment for it now. But if you did decide to tell the truth about smurfing in the GPD and you were unaware Eddie knew and simply wanted to clear the air then at least that's something
well I do believe we had problems with previous SEACLs like this. Lets hope with more people being honest and more being exposed this gets stamped out. Cause what the hell, this is a fun competition and gets SEA active again.
But its good he has come forward, even if he was exposed before, people have seemed to overlook it a while ago.
*iM Light: *So if someone comes clean they shouldn't deserve punishment and hatred? Soft.
Not usually, but the point of punishment isn't to make them feel bad. Nor is it 'an eye for an eye' type thing. The point of punishment is to teach a lesson. If someone clearly shows legitimate remorse then there is seldom need to punish, is there? If they've learnt their lesson then punishing them is just creating un-needed negativity.
Additionally, upon personal research I've confirmed that InFinitY is, in fact 'Random'. Someone I've caught personally at least two or three times myself smurfing in tournaments. This guy hasn't and may never learn his lesson with smurfing, it is my opinion he should be perma banned from competitions in SC2SEA.
EDIT: Yes Bash, that guy. After BSGCL he laddered a ton, got M/GM and then started smurfing for fun.. I can prove at least 5 times that he has smurfed in SEA tournaments
