This might be a long shot and probably completely defeats the purpose of SC2SEA. But an idea i've had for a long time to raise awareness of League of Legends in SEA, the Starcraft 2 bit of SEA to be more specific. I see some people already know about this game and a few are playing ranked and have some decent ELO, i also know quite a few people who are leveling up and really enjoy the game.
Enough of the blabbering, there are a few reasons of mine that i wish to help the SEA Starcraft 2 community to learn of League of legends.
Firstly to me League of Legends is one of those games that i just need to share with everyone, like most of you feel about Starcraft i feel this way of League of legends. Some League players will understand me on this and a few of my other points.
Another idea of this tournament is for other clans or teams to possibly pick up teams for League of Legends, i'm aware some already have, cR and SPR off the top of my head have LoL teams and it really helps both games. The League of Legends players that follow cR's LoL team will possibly click on their website and see they have a Starcraft 2 team and check it out, now i'm not positive but I don't see much of that happening on SC2SEA, i know people from the LoL area of Cyberamer got into Starcraft purely off looking at cR's/SPR's other teams.
I also really despise the constant war between League of Legends and Starcraft 2, the old SC2 > LoL crap, it makes no sense to me honestly they are both amazing games and people have to realize they are both a part of E-sports and combining the games gives publicity to the whole of E-sports, people need to come together and make E-sports a better place. I think that this tournament may be good to get other people involved into League of Legends, even if it's just to try it out to get an honest semi - experienced opinion instead of a half - assed, never played LoL answer.
This is a pretty big long shot because i doubt there are 40 + people willing to play in an 8 - 10 team tournament that has like a $150 prize pool ideally, $20 for each winner player of the winning team and $10 for 2nd place in the end.
The tournament is a way to show the Starcraft 2 SEA scene that LoL has potential to expand to other communities like Starcraft 2 and to give more potential to E-sports growth on the whole.
Feedback is good, I myself don't know much about running a tournament so help on that could be good and also after reading this i feel like it sounds alot like an argument on why SEA should accept League of Legends, well at least one paragraph does hehehe. Please don't take it the wrong way
