Okay so the more I watch other people play, the general norm is to move the camera by sliding to the edges of the screen. Well that took awhile for me to get used to (Starcraft is literally the first RTS I've ever bought) so when I found that you could just use the mouse scroll it seems so much easier. Is this a bad habit to get into?
Is there some minute difference in this or does it even matter whatsoever? I guess I'm just curious. I struggle enough using the camera hotkeys -___-

I do know a lot of players use the side scroll as they say it is better, I do agree with that however I do use the mouse scroll, which does have a few advantages:
- I cast so its already natural for me to use it, esp other casters and observers
- It keeps the mouse pointer central, theres no back and forth to select units when moving the screen
Ideally youll only ever move the screen during battles and when setting up camera hotkeys, otherwise there nearly is no need for scroll due to hotkeys and minimap
I only ever double tap hotkeys, click on the minimap or use the edge of the screen when I need to see something around half a screen away or less. Using the mouse scroll means your moving one of your mouse fingers to the scroll wheel, which is inefficient when you should be doing other actions.
Pressing the middle mouse button requires a lot more effort then just moving your mouse to the edge of the screen.
It is only used in obsing because it is a lot smoother then using the edge, thus easier on the viewers eyes.
But yeah hotkey, camera position hot keys and minimap are better options (not that i use them :P)
