At the installation screen just choose install client (the default option), don't install the server.
After the initial setup choose "Automatically generate certificate" for your account
For the site host enter: 199.167.132.106 Port: 64738
Enter your nickname then go to Self > Register so nobody else can use it. Any abusers / imposters will' be banned from the server.
Rules are similar to SC2SEA's basically don't troll, don't abuse the system/client and don't be a dick and you will never get banned. All common sense people! Now have fun with it!
Advanced Setup
Setting up your mumble
This guide will assume that you've got the correct version of mumble installed and run the wizard at installation.
Enable Advanced settings
Head on over to Configure > Settings in mumble. The first thing you need to do is tick on the Advanced tickbox in the bottom left.
Now, let's run through this tab by tab:
1. Audio Input
Ensure the Device is set to your Microphone and Echo is set to Multichannel.
Depending on what you want, you can set Transmit to:
1) Push to talk - where it will only transmit when you press a button
2) Continuous - never stops transmitting. I do not recommend this.
3) Voice Activity - only transmits when the microphone is picking up something over a certain threshold
If you selected push to talk, keep in mind there is an additional step you need to do. It is addressed a bit later.
If you selected Voice Activity, read the spoiler
You'll see this:
Select Signal to Noice and then move the slidebars until when you speak, it moves to the green and when you aren't speaking or are typing, etc. it is in the red.
Compression should have been set by the wizard so just leave them as is.
For Noise Supression set it to the maximum. For amplification, set it depending on the volume of your microphone.
2. Audio Output
Set Device to your preferred output device. Untick Exclusive and Positional Audio
You can set the volume of what you hear using the volume slider
If you want mumble to reduce the volume of your other apps when someone or you or either are speaking, you can tick the checkboxes under Attenuate Applications by. Move the slider to your liking.
3. Shortcuts
Yes, I skipped a tab. You can go back to that later if you want. Most of those settings are personal preferences. Now, if you selected Push to Talk back there, you should read the spoiler, else, you can move along.
You want to set a shortcut for push to talk here. I have ` set for mine. But you can set whatever, like F2. First up, click on the Add on the bottom left.
You should get an Unassigned row. Click on Unassigned and Select Push-to-Talk:
Then click under shortcut on the row, and press your preferred button. Afterwards, it should look similar to this:
Mine says K:` which means the ` key on the Keyboard. And you are done, for this step. Journey on.
4. Overlay
Aaargh! More skipping!? Yes, I lied when I said I was going to run through tab-by-tab. Oh well.
Un-tick Enable Overlay if it is ticked. It occasionally causes issues in games.
5. And you are done!
Click on OK and your settings should be saved. Hop onto the sc2sea.com server:
Server > Connect > Add New
Label: {name for identifying the server. I picked sc2sea}
Address: 199.167.132.106
Port: 64738
Username: {The default username you want on the server}
Then select it, and click connect. Welcome to the sc2sea.com mumble server!
Bumping old topic, I have a question about this.
Does anyone actually use this Mumble server?
It's a decent voice communication platform, and if other people actually used it i"d be willing to use it as well :3
