Just came home from the COMON Gaming Cafe Sc2 Tourney out in Eastwood Sydney, had a damn good time, just thought i'd take the time and give a few results to the larger Sc2SEA community!

Basically me and cT (Team Canberra whom I let stay with me as I am such a nice guy) rocked up on the Tuesday and met alot of awesome guys who I've only ever seen in the odd game. Having nametags on the computers helped as I introduced myself to anyone i remotely recognized. I remember one guy hearing I was in nGen and telling me he looked up to nGen and wanted to join when he was good enough, didn't have the heart to tell him that i'm not exactly their best player :P

Ro32 and Ro16 passed (Single elim, bo3) and i managed to eliminate half of cT myself (Sorry Trigg and raven

), and that was it for night 1. Alot of people were eliminated, and the Ro8 and onwards were the next night!

So we rocked up on the Wednesday ready for the Ro8, me having trained ZvT all day because I am a gigantic nerd (Thx Wild and Counter

), the Ro8 looked like this:

YoonYj vs PiG
iCHORAnimal vs HotS
Leo vs nGenBenji
TASanchez vs TAriiChard

Funny story, I remember laddering against HotS and BM'ing him after he made a comment about my skill, was awkward seeing him in person, but the thing is being at a lan with someone and sharing the same love for the game, you get over that kinda stuff really quickly. I apologized and he did as well and we had a good chat. The power of Lans guys! Everyone should go :P

Anyway, Yoon beat PiG, Animal beat HotS , Leo Dropped some Thors and Tanks on my cliffs and beat me (2-1 :P

) and riiChard cheesed Sanchez.

Ro4 looked like:

TAriiChard vs Leo
YoonYj vs iCHORAnimal

4 Terrans. Yea. We noticed it as well.

YoonYj beat Animal in a close series, each game was pretty standard but ended up 3-2 in YYJ's favor, wp Animal, played well in G1 and 2!

riiChard vs Leo took a damn long time, each game was 30 minutes, and the game on Steppes hit the 32 minute mark, and as soon as riiChard put down his fusion core, Blizzard decided the game was too awesome to handle and dc'd Leo, so rematch! TAriiChard ended up winning 3-2!

Finals were YYj vs riiChard, and well, it was pretty one sided, wp to YYJ winning 3-0 and taking home the prize money. Final standings and winnings are below!:

1st - YoonYj - $300
2nd - TAriiChard - $100
3rd - iCHORAnimal - $50

Also, the next LAN event will be in March, more details will come but it should take place on a weekend, making it easier for everyone to turn up! It was a fun event, if you can make it, you should!

PiG is a beast. Enjoyed playing the tournament. Was fun sending one of the guys from canberra home :P It's a great internet cafe and hopefully they have many more tournaments to go.

The overall level of skill was amazing and getting through the first round took a lot of practice.

Thanks Benji for the coverage ^^. It was an awesome tournament and the internet cafe is actually really nice! Grats to Yoon for taking first place! It was great meeting everyone and I'll definitely be there for the tournament in March.
