I've just recently started SC2 a few months ago then stopped cause of exams. I'm Bronze, I've lost a lot of games so far and only won 3, I know I'm super noob. I try using Thor rush but failing cause my opponent, usually Terran, very little Protoss and almost no Zerg, always keep killing my SCV's and Thor very fast with mass Siege Tank and marauder, mass collousus and mass baneling's. Please give me tips on how to improve, I will appreciate it very much. Can someone teach me how to do Mech and Marine/Marauder/Medivac builds since I only know how to do Thor rush.

yoyo i got to platinum by just marine rushing they are more effective than thors so just learn how to marine rush properly!

Essentially all builds deviate from the following.

Assuming CONSTANT SCV production,

10 Supply Depot
12 Barracks
13 Refinery
15 OC
16 Supply
19 Barracks (if MMM)

On completion of the barracks, build a marine.

Then transition to medivac when you feel comfortable.

OR

10 Supply Depot
12 Barracks
13 Refinery
15 OC
16 Refinery
18 Factory

Then do whatever kind of mech mix you wanna do.

hi, i'm from SG too. i really need someone to train me. i also need advice on when to push out or when to expand cause i usually expand at 30 supply.

Hi BHD (I can call you that right?), and guess what, I love Thor rush too! Maybe our Build orders are similar? I still recall my first Thor drop that got me so pumped up as it traversed the skies towards the enemy base. And then it got shot down by a couple of Vikings.

Still, it's an awesome build and feeling to get when your Thors are out in the frontline, and I still do go for the Thor builds whenever the opponents seem suited for it, but currently in the league there's less chance for it to happen though -- not to say that it's not a good build~.

So go read up all of Oxygen's articles (I know I did!) and about losing, don't worry, I lose practically all my games so much, but the important thing to note is why did you lose them? Analyse your replay again and again and try to find out areas where you could have done things a little differently (strategy wise).

Eg. Like are you making buildings that weren't necessary towards your goal? Did you constantly make SCVs to support the hefty economy that a Thor build requires? Have you tried getting a tech-lab on your first Rax, and before you make your Fact and then attach a tech-lab, you use the Rax's tech-lab instead (using the switching method)?

Ahhh, Thors are awesome!
